It's ********..
She was made to be like a famous painting "The Birth of Venus"
The line that she says "No, I don't want this" is probably to do with the player ******* killing her
Nowhere is there any reference in the internet to her refusing to speak lines

it probably stems from something Cave Johnson's said telling them to use Caroline for the AI and that she might not want to do it and they would have to make her do it

i remember reading somewhere that that line is from when Cave Johnson forced GladOs into the computer. In portal 2 it is hinted at that Cave was looking for a way to transfer his consciousness to a digital copy so he could live on, but the work was taking too long and as you could hear from the audio later in the game, he was dying before the research was complete, so he demanded that the scientists force his assistant, the one who has GladOs' voice, to undergo the process once it was possible. Both Cave's voice actor and GladOs' refused to read the script because it sounded too much like a rape scene. I'm pretty sure thats where that line is from.

So Cave Johnson died before they (A.S.) were able to finish their neural mapping initiative, and he *demanded* that Caroline run the place after he dies. Also, we know that Caroline's mind was somehow uploaded and made into GLaDOS. According to the backstory they started the GLaDOS project, Synthetic portion first, in 1986 and the Genetic component in 1996 (in 1997 she was at v3.11). Then a series of failed starts where she tries to kill everyone up until the year 200X: That year she was "fully complete" and brought online only to lock the place down on BYDTWD, and get stuck with a morality core.

There's several unused sound clips from Caroline including "Mr. Johnson, I don't want this!" and others. Valve failed to include other sound clips and the voice actors for Caroline and Cave refused to voice all the lines for the plot-line where Caroline is turned into GLaDOS because it was too graphic. It reminded them of rape when telling the story of a woman being forcibly interfaced with a computer and having her mind and body taken-over.

This leads me to think that GLaDOS instantly tries to kill everyone [upon her self-actualization] every time she goes online because she realized it was those people, the Aperture Science employees, who were responsible for this.

The Lavender Town one is false.
The Gameboy was unable to play stereo sound what is essential for binaural beats.
(Sounds that are on a slightly different pitch in your left an right ear).
These sounds are the only one that can affect your body by stimulating your "Nucleus olivaris", giving you acoustic hallucinations.

It is not possible to affect your body and your perception in other other way by audio.
(Except really loud or high frequencies but that is not under consideration.)

Actually there is another sound that can cause distinct physiological reactions and that is infra-sound. They have been cited to cause a variety of issues most commonly headaches. In recent news there is speculation that wind turbines produce infra-sound which is damaging to humans although the evidence is minimal as its a relativly new exploration.
Here's a wind turbine article

Isn't the Lavender town one a CreepyPasta? It sounded a lot like one where kids would see spirits that would drive them crazy to the point they'd scratch their own eyes out and kill themselves. One of the detectives trying to figure out what was causing it started to see the spirits of the dead children and his dead wife telling him to join them and he took his own life. I may have that wrong. It's been a long time since I read it. It's worth the read if you like Pokemon CreepyPasta and can find it.

I just googled binaural beats... this **** is intense.. separately the tones are normal tones.. but combined.. i feel like I am in a horror movie. There are whining repetitive tones that sound like creepy wind. And sometimes it feels like everything is slowing down and getting deeper, and every sound becomes bitty and rough. And when i take out my headphones, everything sounds gurgled and it feels like I can HEAR silence.

Though it may not affect the body directly in that manner, surely just the creep sound can alter mood and thought just like any song does in its own way.

Oh and btw. if people get headaches from the theme it's often just the "placebo effect". You just imaging that feelings.
It's like someone gives you a harmless pill, telling you it will make you feel relaxed. After a while, you will feel relaxd, but you imagine it only.

all right, first of all, sorry OP but I don't believe that was the original song from the Pocket Monsters Green Beta, that was the one that was said to have bad effects. You posted the song from the original Pokemon Red/Blue ROM.

And also to the person I'm responding to, You're right, to an extent. It wasn't just one frequency that did the job, it was a few fired off in rapid succession, and the tone in which they were delivered. not in the vid OP posted, but I did some looking around and found the real one. (I had already listened to the one OP posted) As soon as I read your comment, talking about the placebo effect, my headache went away. Then I listened to the real video, from the Pocket Monsters Green Beta. I would say I got an even worse condition (around 2:18 in the video.) I'm 17, and even I got seriously depressed. Let's just say, my pocketknife is now in the trash, and I never want to see it again.

Deep down you've probably expected a worse reaction to the real song, so you've got one ;)

I listened to the whole thing and don't feel any different whatsoever. Actually I think the guy/girl who created this did a nice job creating an eerie theme. Creating good themes seems to become a lost art, nowadays you usually just get bombarded with what I'd call orchestral background noise

I will give it credit, it was an eerie sound, but nothing I would personally believe would soley contribute to inhibiting actions in a person. That is the story behind it that puts a lot of people in that trance, storytelling gone right. Milton Babbit made songs that were like these, that were just so ominous (it wasn't 8-bit) but it really made you feel like walking away from the music, I don't normally try to get away from any kind of music, but that man has made me do that. But on topic, I still think it's the placebo effect, but that's just because I personally wasn't affected, I also went in with a different mindset as the rest as well.

He was wrong.
There is no way the original Gameboy speakers could have played such a low frequency sound. There would never have been such a frequency included in the song.
Plus, all the songs are loops in those games.
I even took a spectrogram of the actual song used in the game.
No images. It's all fake.

OP, those Portal 2 sound files of GLaDOs were from Cave forcing her mind into that of an AI, there were meant to be scenes of him shouting and screaming, possibly beating her about becoming one but Ellen refused let her voice be recorded for such violence, and when attempts were made to record the scenes she'd break down into tears.

Do you have a source for this info? I'm not doubting you or anything, it just sounds weird as **** that a voice actor would start crying when they tried recording those scenes.

theportalwiki . com/wiki/Caroline#Trivia
-"There are unused Caroline voice files in the game files, which suggest Caroline was against the idea of implanting her mind into the AI."

To Quote;
"[Shocked] Sir!"
"Mr Johnson!"
"[Scared] Mr Johnson, I don't want this."
"I don't want this."
"No, listen to me. Sir I do not want this."

These are what Caroline says when Cave insists on her being made AI. Valve eventually came to the idea that it sounded too much like rape, (and not that her body looked like that of someone who's been raped, she purely possess' the body of a woman to simulate her female persona.)

**I can't remember where I read that she cried, but I used to read so much into it that it might be slightly distorted. I can't remember :)
