If red thumbs then fine but just think about this: What if that girl is not actually the best for him? Maybe her expressed acceptance of his lack of physical physique leads to him developing a narcissistic complex that leads him to abandon her for a pursuit of a woman he can never reach, leaving him blind to his limits and her alone and depressed for knowing she destroyed what she adored about the man she loves.

Moral of the story, nice and feel good does not NECESSARILY mean the right person

User avatar #287 to #282 - neiharakon (04/04/2013) [-]
In spirit of the award I suppose I should be skeptical.

How is it arrogance? I just wanted to invoke thought. This is a serious question, I do not understand how I've come across as such.
#252 to #193 - jizzonmypants (04/04/2013) [-]
maybe you should just love instead of thinking about love, If you're gonna let your fears be an obstacle to fully love your companion and just being yourself then you're gonna have a pathetic life. If that person **** you up, well ... **** it at least you tried, and it opens a road for the right person that fits you, and if you cant find that person wel **** it again life isn't fair

User avatar #260 to #252 - neiharakon (04/04/2013) [-]
Not the way I think and not the way someone who would love me should think. Love is an emotion but it is not necessarily irrational. That is just an easy way to ignore responsibility for an action.

To consider your logic, why throw fear, an emotion, away when you are nigh dependent upon love, an emotion? to choose a basis of instinct or emotional response as a way of life seems reasonable but to discard certain behaviors while favoring others makes no sense.

Fear is a deliberate response by the mind to warn, halt, or slow down an action while love is one that tells you to build attachment and affection to a subject. If you have fear as a response to a person that you are loving, then it simply set off a defense mechanism. Why is that bad? Shouldn't you look before you leap? Why take an action that you could avoid the consequences of?

This way you work through obstacles instead of ignoring or avoiding them and save yourself from repeated mistake while still allowing for love.

Reason is what makes us human. If we deny ourselves that then we lesson ourselves to nothing but animals and if we further ignore our senses then we simply exist as a body that requires sustenance. You're telling me to do all of these things.

I do not apologize for my opinion but I do apologize If I have not made it clear enough for you to understand it.
User avatar #286 to #260 - jizzonmypants (04/04/2013) [-]
I understand your point and its a pretty reasonable if you don't want to get harmed. But i still think people shouldn't accept fear all the time they fear something. I mean fear let us make assumptions to protect ourself from harm. But what if there is no actuall harm and it's just an assumption that is not real what if you're overprotecting yourself from something that could be actually good. I tend to make decitions not based on fear when it comes to persons ( most of the time). I tend to make them over what i consider real how they really are without any kind of mask thats the most fair way i think i could judge a person because im judging with facts not imaginary assumptions.

Seeing the other persons how they really are, being yourself without any mask can lead to a disapointment im not gonna denie that , but if you are just lucky enough you might find comfort if you take the risk

sorry for any grammar mistakes im not a native speaker
User avatar #294 to #286 - neiharakon (04/04/2013) [-]
I'll agree with you to a point, risk is inevitable. Fear is not always deserved but you could say the same for love. I just use a different tool to lesson risks I suppose. Part of this includes doubt so as to question and find true meaning of what I do and feel. Before you can truly understand another you have to understand yourself. It's cliche but how could you know what you want or why you do things if you don't know the reasons.

Just not a look before leap guy. I miss out on some real world exp. but I also lessen failures and unnecessary risk. I value that as more important.

completely agree about the true characters of another though.
User avatar #197 to #193 - lieutenantpansy (04/04/2013) [-]
or you could put that cynical way of thinking away and think romantically.
User avatar #209 to #197 - neiharakon (04/04/2013) [-]
I don't necessarily think this will happen but to blindly acknowledge something as good based on a temporary "feel good" instance is to simply be unrealistic.

Would you say the best match for a person who feels compelled to ****** others is someone who perpetuates the actualization he feels in the act or someone who helps him control and overcome it so that he may rid himself of a harmful behavior?

It's the same logic except in this case both options could be viewed as romantic and supportive but one actually betters the individual.

It is this generation that has been raised that intentions better the consequences and as a result discard all non-essential or unforeseen consequences. That is a consequence of Romanticism that prevents me from adhering to it. Thinking romantically does not excuse the possible consequences.
User avatar #212 to #209 - lieutenantpansy (04/04/2013) [-]
No, you don't think romantically at all.
You sound kinda bitter.
User avatar #218 to #212 - neiharakon (04/04/2013) [-]
I never claimed to be a romantic. I like the content for it's positive portrayal, but I just wanted to make someone think about why it might be so. I don't mean to come across bitter, I apologize. If you must know I count myself as a realist or pragmatist. I'd be just as inclined to take a negative thought and turn it good for the sake of reflection circumstance just lead to negativity from my end.
User avatar #234 to #218 - happypancake (04/04/2013) [-]
Did it occur to you that maybe instead of the boy in the comic settling for his current strength because the girl is satisfied, it's likely that after it was made apparent that even his 'meagre' strength could help out the person he loves the most (as opposed to being disheartened by the stronger man next to him and giving up), he felt encouraged to build upon that current strength so he may be able to help his girlfriend in other little ways, and eventually become the man that he wishes to be, both for himself and his sweetheart?

Sorry for the rambley sentence, I find it hard to express myself fully in short ones.
User avatar #243 to #234 - neiharakon (04/04/2013) [-]
That did cross my mind but to assert an assumption supported by the material wouldn't serve to strike nearly as much conversation.
A thumb for you though. You're thinking and yes that's completely possible.

I'l excuse you if you excuse me.
User avatar #224 to #218 - lieutenantpansy (04/04/2013) [-]
I understand.
But your comment seems to just try to make something negative, that is definately positive.

I did not thumbed you down, btw.
User avatar #245 to #224 - neiharakon (04/04/2013) [-]
Long story short, that's my point. I like to question why something that implies goodness is good just as much as implied badness is bad. The point is to be negative, if I was positive I'd just be complimenting the material, not building upon it.
