Rock.
Rock is rooted in the blues, a style of music created by black people as a means of escapism from their everyday lives.

Or without jazz or classical.

Have you seen Metal Evolution? I recommend it. It's essentially a follow on series from the documentary film "Metal: A Headbanger's Journey" both deserve a watch.

Was it called Metal Evolution? I thought it was called "Global Metal".

Anyway, I love that guy's work. Can you list all his documentaries?

Nevermind, found it. His name is Sam Dunn. He has two documentary films and a series on metal.

not peanut butter

In 1884 Marcellus Gilmore Edson of Canada patented peanut paste, the finished product from milling roasted peanuts between two heated surfaces.

Art Tatum, Duke Ellington, Charlie Parker, Charles Mingus, John Coltrane, Art Blakey, Sonny Rollins,

I could go on forever.

I could go on for a decent span of time. Jazz isn't my genre... I prefer classical... but nonetheless, my father played jazz quite often while he was still alive, for which I am eternally grateful. Fantastic music.

This is true, but it goes without saying that Black people are the brains behind many of America's most timeless music. You don't hear Doo Wop or Big Band on public radio anymore.
