Not sure if OC. I took it from this video

www.youtube.com/watch?v=g1NJ9Vv-Y6Q&list=LLWQytNn_VXoquWiVqfkEbNg

And I screencapped every image in the video and put them in paint, It was painfully long.

Sources are in the video description.

You're welcome. People (mostly over the internet) almost try to be pessimist, even when I give them links to articles showing that they have invented a hologram, or that they mapped every star and planet known yet and it will be available on smartphones soon. I don't get how people live like this, ignorid the good things that happen around them.

Most people just listen to the media. And they make their money with cruelty, wars and other problems. I think that's the problem. I wouldn't say that I belong to this group of people but most of the things you showed me here i didn't know before. Thx for that.

Yeah, the number of people in extreme poverty shrank by 270 million, but the number of people in regular poverty grew by 270 million. See OP, you gotta think about these things, the glass isn't always half full.

Regular poverty is still better than extreme poverty.
Glass = still half full

They're still in poverty, though, which is still pretty bad.
User avatar #81 to #80 - ainsley (04/03/2013) [-]
Yes but regular poverty is better than extreme

***** , quit being a pessimist
User avatar #17 - ruckallthefules (04/03/2013) [-]

what about the profits?

>The average income for Botswanians is greater than Finns.
Average income is a terrible way to measure income distribution. One needs to look at wealth disparity, as 80% of the population may be living in poverty while 2% or 1% controls a large amount of wealth. I know very little about either country so the idea being presented in this case may hold true, but as a general measure it is a terrible way to show it.

Life expectancy in Mexico didn't go up because life got better, it's because everybody who can run swim and jump is already OUT of Mexico.

when I was i kid, I used to design cites by drawing them on paper, and i thought of skyscraper farms with climate control and what not. Its cool to see that im not the only one.

Great. Now we will reach the 15 Billion population mark all the quicker and get ourselves some truly unsolvable problems.

Finally some optimism on this site. I think it's fair to say that science can bring humanity forwards, but nothing will stop people in first world countries whinging on the internet.
#64 - captainreposty (04/03/2013) [-]
Hmmm, you need to reference all these facts, since some of them, without evidence, just seems like ******** . Especially the one about Mexico's life expectancy.

That Nepal flag has a lot of white space.
But the Nepal flag is quite unique because of it's shape, not like all these other countries, with their filthy, common rectangles.

LOL WHAT THE **** !

When I was in the Eight grade I knew there was a huge issue with crop loss and the growing need of food with limited surface area. I came up with the idea of 'farming columns' it was basically a nearly self sufficient, solar powered farm that was highly automated. I imagined every city with sky scrapers that would have farming columns and water collection towers to reduce cost of living for people and allow for a successful agricultural center in cities. I never bothered to forward the idea because I ended up doubting it would be worth **** and ended up feeling stupid for ever bothering with it. Well, who knew?

the first one: because they died..
User avatar #48 - eaglEEE (04/03/2013) [-]
The smaller percentage of death is not actually all that positive because we will suffer from overpopulation very soon, and that creates a lot more issues than it resolves.
User avatar #47 - aerius (04/03/2013) [-]
We need more Solar Panels so bad. They should just be installed on every house as standard.
