I've been hunting for 4 years, and it makes me sad every time I hear people saying we are rednecks. "Hurh duurh, you have legally bought 5 firearms, and shoot animals. REDNEEECK!" Where do you get your fine turkey meal or your roasted wild boar, how about getting rid of overpopulated wolf stocks, did you know that wild boars are even worse? How about that rabid bear that has been roaming the forests for 2 months, claiming 4 victims and slaughtering 3 dogs. We took care of it. Also, we don't just hunt. We make shelters for animals, grow crops for them, protect the mother nature from unwanted people and plus we are in good cooperation with the Police. We humans have hunted ever since after the rise of the very first men and women to walk the earth. A lot has changed though.. From sharpened stones, wooden clubs and slingshots to semi-automatic rifles and shotguns. Also, back then I highly doubt that they had any trouble with finding food from the nature. There were 10x more game animals than humans back then. I admit it, there are some people claim that they are hunters but ******* like them ruin every hunting season and won't do **** about helping the nature. We keep the balance in the ecosystem. So no predator won't outrun normally helpless game animals. Same applies to game animals, so they won't outrun predators. Example: 1,600 predators x 600 game animals = Predators dying for starvation, become more aggressive and aren't as fearful towards humans as before. Cannibalism is possible. + No game animals to eat. Ecosystem is basically ****** . But if the situation was like this... 600 predators x 2,600 game animals = Predator stocks have experienced a large growth in small time, there aren't as many game animals as before.. Predator numbers quickly become 1,800 in five years. Game animals are outnumbered, numbers descents to 300. Same effect happens like in previous example. We keep the ecosystem in balance, so it won't destroy itself. Ironic? Yeah, but we still help.

Well, your comment doesn't make any sense. I still got that part where you say I am retarded, alright? As you can clearly say that we are currently the most "advanced" mammal walking the earth currently, but still that doesn't mean that lower forms of life can't do anything against us. There are recent reports of joggers and children walking to school being attacked by wolves. The country where I live in has a pretty fresh (from early 2000's) report of wild boars killing 2 full-grown men in one's homestead. Many are afraid of them, and so am I. I respect the nature as everyone should too. Being so skeptical about hunting is an effect of living inside a box (homestuck, large urban cities..) and being too much out of touch of the nature and saying critical opinions that you really don't know **** about. We obviously can't go diplomatic on rabid bears and give them honey while scratching their backs. If you were a father of 2 kids. Who walk to their school which is 2 km away, so not a bad deal to walk, eh? Local news has a report of wolf packs roaming around the territory you live in. Making outdoor activities and school trips by walk very dangerous. You could make (if not already) a request to the local Forest Service to initiate a hunt to take care of these predators since they are making life around the place you live in very aware and dangerous. Notice how the situation changes when it comes to safety of you and your kids. But, since we are talking about events and situations you have never been in, and therefore you have to bitch about it like it was 1999. It's funny how you can easily pick sides between wildlife and hunters since you are either stupid or an ignorant bastard who is against the delivery of killshots to dangerous predators and rabid animals you clearly would fight for. I might as well be a soldier and you could call me a cold blooded killer. Then again, you have never been in there.. In the field. Neither I have, but it was an example.

When a predator kills a human they are nearly assured to attack others, except in very specific cases. The department of Fish and Game as well as the Forest Service will initiate hunts for predators that have begun attacking humans, and they are the two largest federal conservation agencies in the State.

Hunting is pretty necessary. I know that most of all the meat comes from farms, slaughtering pens and breeding facilities, but hunting isn't just about the food. I hope your read all what I said previously. Our duty is to keep the balance of ecosystems, we grow and plant grops for the animals, we try our best to provide shelter both in the forests and outside the forests, but the most typical thing people know about us is to shoot game animals and predators. You know, you don't need a gun to be a hunter, neither badass fists or bowie knives.. Just help the forests and animals that live there. Still our job during the hunt is to use all the parts of the shot game animal. Meat, skin, antlers/tusks. Basically everything what's left of the deceased animal. Well, to be honest I don't like to call or hear it as a sport. Some people keep it as a sport, some people don't. For me hunting is like a secondary job. You said at first part of your comment, "I know hunting is necessary" and at the middle of there you said "I don't know how hunting is still necessary." My point is that people should study and look with their own eyes before making critical opinions, when it comes that. More people will swarm with their critical opinions and will eventually start infamous internet wars. I just hope that people understand the real facts, not just what they think. And no, it won't change anything. I rarely have time to wander around FunnyJunk but this beat me to it. Who am I to judge, we all are different and most of all we are just all human. I am a man, who likes that others would learn to see things from other's point of view and combine their thoughts with your own, therefore creating 2 x wisdom between you two. Share your thoughts and let others learn from you while you are learning from them.

You still have overpopulated wolf stocks in the U.S. ? Wow. Germany has like 10-20 (not kidding) wolves and they came over the polish border like 4 years ago.

And then they start a new show on discovery about some people trying to find the creatures.
(finding bigfoot)
#29 to #7 - anon (03/31/2013) [-]
Well, good luck when one decides to wait for the creature and they either A) see you messing with the cameras and give you an earful or B) assume you are the creature and shoot you on the spot. You'd be best off only attempting to do this once or twice also they detect motion. You'll have to make sure you delete any evidence on the SD of your tampering.

1) You are going to walk on a hunters property 2) you are going to mess with his stuff.
That is a really easy way to get shot.
