I'd love to be a pilot. You take off the plane, talk to the passengers, then dick around in the cockpit for a few hours, talk to the passengers some more and land.

Seems like it's like 30 minutes work vs several hours is whatever the hell you feel like.

except starting off you make **** money and have $80,000 in flight school debt.... when i started off, i cleared $12,000 a year as a regional aircraft FO. i made more money working at a retail shop then as an FO

Ha yeah there's hours more of work prior to actually flying due to figuring out weight restrictions on how much the plane can handle.

Its okay for the first 2 years, around $20,000, but afterwards when you get on an airline or cargo, its ******* great. I am a bush pilot in Northern Ontario, Canada. Are you considering become a pilot?

The pay is amazing, if you the Captain. Talking 80k+ job.

And that 80k isnt income taxed as you spend most your time not in the country and in international waters type thing. So same pay as 150k job bassically.

Plus the training course can cost over 100k . Have to get special student loan from certain country.

But after you get a job and become a captain about 10 years later you're rolling in the money.

Its not too bad if you live in Canada, I payed $30,000 over 3 years (the government payed for it).

if somebody were to have experience flying military aircraft, do you think they'd need to take the training course? I'm trying to become a pilot in the USAF, and wondering if I should go into engineering when/if I get out or pilot for an airline.

i researched pilots in school last year. I'm not 100% certain, but if I remember correctly someone with military flying experience doesn't need any other certification to fly commercially.

It's more than that. Pilots and co-pilots have to constantly monitor visibility, weather conditions, the functionality of their instruments, etc.
