Unacceptable! FJ cares deeply about your knowledge. In fact almost all of the top comments say the same thing. Some are practically identical.

Did you know that the guy Isildur at the start of LOTR is the ancestor of Aragorn heir of Isildur.
#76 to #70 - ohemgeezus (03/26/2013) [-]
Aragorn isn't the only heir of Ilisdur though, there are about 40 more heirs.

at the time of the hobbit, gimli was 62. he wanted to go on the quest with them but was denied for being too young. balin is actually younger than thorin, who is 195 years old.

5 is ******** , the guardians of middle earth kept that blade. One that looked like it stabbed frodo, doesnt make it the same blade
User avatar #78 to #75 - gihadflab (03/26/2013) [-]
in both the book and movie they explain that the Mogul Blade was buried in the tomb of the king who owned it. The fact that the blade is brought out of the tomb which cant be broken into suggests the presence of a powerful necromancer, Sauron. And as you know, the Hobbit is before the LOTR trilogy. so it makes sense that the mogul blade would be in the trilogy
User avatar #81 to #78 - crazyeyedbioll (03/26/2013) [-]
I understand that, but that doesnt make it the same exact blade, what did it just dissipate from the guardians hold and teleport to the witch king? it is much more likely he used a different blade if you ask me
User avatar #83 to #81 - gihadflab (03/26/2013) [-]
True, however they might call is the Mogul Blade in the movie and book. I would have to double check it though.

Im just glad to talk to another good fan of Tolkien's masterpieces. Havent met many people with good knowledge of the books so I have nobody to talk to about it all. A thumb and a good day to you sir!

Kind of upset me how much in the movie wasn't in the book. I think they were all smart additions for the cinematic feature but I still have reservations.
#58 to #43 - lackofcareingerer (03/26/2013) [-]
i personally think that the hobbit movie was awful, it ruined the simplicity of the hobbit. In the book the main quest is "kill the dragon, take back the kingdom." instead the movie made it about ******* Orcs with on hand chasing the dwarfs threw made up terrain that doesn't exist in middle earth where they were traveling. And dont even get me started on that ******* acid head they tried to pull of as Ragister the Brown. (i know i spelled it wrong)

but i find the hobbit to be one of my favorite books even though it is for children, so that may be why i was upset
User avatar #66 to #58 - tigersstripes (03/26/2013) [-]
