I sent Dogmeat out to retrieve the alien ammo for the alien gun, but he stayed away for a while. I waited and waited, but he didn´t come back.
So I went on, hoping that faithfull dog would come back one day.
But he didn´t.
I always wondered where he was, still roaming the waistland in search for that ammo.
I had almost forgotten him.

I had organized the wedding for two people in Rivet City and they began the ceremony. The screen blacked out so you wouldn´t have to sit through it all.

And then, when the screen came back, I was pulled into a conversation...with Dogmeat.

That loyal as **** beast had returned to me, with ALL the alien ammo barking happily.

I have never felt so much happiness in a game.

Can I share a story about my relationship with a dog on a game?
User avatar #6 to #5 - redblueyellow (03/23/2013) [-]
Of course!
User avatar #7 to #6 - andnowducks (03/23/2013) [-]
Haunting ground, you meet this dog chained to a tree, I think his leg's hurt, but anyway, he stays with you through all the game, I got so attached to him that in one ending he died, and I restarted the whole ******* game to keep him alive, and the brave little ****** used to attack the enemies for you, giving you time to escape.
User avatar #8 to #7 - redblueyellow (03/23/2013) [-]
I never played the game or even heard of it, but I looked it up and from the images i could see the dog was indeed a very important part of the game.

User avatar #9 to #8 - andnowducks (03/23/2013) [-]
It's a good game, it can be a bit annoying, but it's a good game.
User avatar #10 to #9 - redblueyellow (03/23/2013) [-]
If the game made you restart the whole game just to save one dog, I'd say it has pretty solid character development and interaction.

I don't know if you played Dragon Age Origins, but what made the game enjoyable for me was the different characters. I mean, I didn't really like the gameplay (it just wasn't my style) but the characters made it all worthwile.

I really want Bioware and Bethesda to team up and make the ultimate fantasy rpg with Bioware providing the solid character development and interaction and bethesda the gameplay
User avatar #14 to #10 - walcorn ONLINE (03/23/2013) [-]
On my first playthrough of Dragon Age: Origins, I brought the dog with me wherever...
I even picked him over Wynne against the Archdemon, leaving me without a healer.
Totally worth it.
User avatar #15 to #14 - redblueyellow (03/23/2013) [-]
I never used the dog much myself, but i always brought Alistair along. Morigan alot in the beginning but in the end the other two members of my party varied alot. But I always took alistair.

I remember sparing Loghain's life, because if such a choice can be made I chose for the mercifull option, but if Loghain joins Alistair leaves, so I reloaded a save and immediatly obliterated Loghains as.
User avatar #16 to #15 - walcorn ONLINE (03/23/2013) [-]
I only spared him to get the trophy for having recruited everyone.
I reloaded afterwards.
User avatar #17 to #16 - redblueyellow (03/23/2013) [-]
On my first playthrough I completely mist the tavern where you could get Leliana, so I couldn't get that trophy on my first run.

To this day I consider not noticing that tavern as my biggest fail in rpg history.
User avatar #19 to #17 - walcorn ONLINE (03/23/2013) [-]
I always bring Leliana.
She is by far one of my favourite characters on the game, and since you need a rogue,
it's either her or Zevran, and to be honest, I think Zevran is a cunt most of the time.

InB4 the user Zevran

I did.
Didn't like it all that well, only worthy of one playthrough.

Honestly, the dog is one of the best companions to bring against the Archdemon, or any dragon in general because the dog can't be hit by one of their most powerful attacks.
User avatar #11 to #10 - andnowducks (03/23/2013) [-]
You don't have to restart the whole game, it's just I didn't save in forever, and you could just pat the **** out of him and give him beef jerky, but I already didn't read dog interaction tutorials.
User avatar #12 to #11 - redblueyellow (03/23/2013) [-]
But still you started the whole game over for the dog.

One time I was just wandering around with Dogmeat to train and loot. All of the sudden Dogmeat is growling up a storm and shoots of like a bullet. I loose him for a good 5 mins until the camera does that thing where it slow-mos on a kill. It turns out that Dogmeat saw, faced, and beat a Super Mutant Behemoth all by himself. I don't think I've ever been so proud of a virtual dog until that day. Just to be safe though, I always had the puppies perk as backup.
#121 to #37 - yutdollacwwwthree (03/24/2013) [-]
I once got curious to see what you had to do to kill him. I had the puppy perk, so I didn't worry about him coming back. It took about 600 or so shots with a fully repaired Gatling laser on hard to kill him.

But then I went to vault 101 and the puppy wasn't there. Then I saw him in Rivet city a while later for some ******* reason.

hired thugs come for me
easy as hell at this level, kill two
where the hell is the oth- wife screams
i look over at the thug executing wife with a War-Axe
			*****************
I paralyse him
tell son to go to bed (but pa...) I said now!
walk over to thug, take off weapons and beat him down to his knees
let him regenerate as I pick over his buddies, take an iron dagger
he stands back up and i knock him back down to his knees with the dagger
do this again with a mace, a war axe, flames, sparks, ice
finally take out my war-axe and repeat beating him until I behead him
the ground is covered in blood, the body is covered in blood
I pick up the head and throw it into the lake, the drag the body into the woods
walk over to my darling wife's corpse and pick her up, place her in the Flower Garden
Walk inside to give my son a sweet roll.
But you know what that taught me....Revenge is not Satisfying
