NFSU2 was, and always be, the best racing game

amen to that, i was about to play it the other day when i found out that my ps2 laser was broken
User avatar #62 to #5 - xturboxx (03/23/2013) [-]
Overall, underground 2 was the best. I liked Most Wanted a lot for the police chases, and carbon for the muscle cars.

i prefer most wanted. it was more interesting
User avatar #137 to #5 - rapsuskiller (03/23/2013) [-]
You know it bro! Playing it since I was like 10 years old and never got tired of it.
#38 to #5 - anon (03/23/2013) [-]
most wanted.
#121 to #5 - anon (03/23/2013) [-]
U1 and U2 were the best ones indeed, then it started going to **** just like everything else they make.
User avatar #6 to #5 - kushkiller (03/22/2013) [-]
its a tie between that and the first NFS most wanted
+4

Nah, I drove the starter Civic all the way through the game
User avatar #19 to #15 - ARandomSpoon (03/23/2013) [-]
Dude, the civic RAPED alllllll the way to the end.
User avatar #36 to #19 - fernand (03/23/2013) [-]
Nope... Mazda Miata was the best starter car without any dyno tuning. Second best car in the game unless you knew how the **** dyno tuning worked, in which case the Toyota Corolla raped everything.

Gotta love the crystal clear graphics you get with some games.

But remember that when you first played the older games, you couldn't believe how good those graphics were either.

your image is comparable to a spy sniping.

Especially graphics in themed games like Zelda and Mario. They're timeless, even after twenty or thirty years.
User avatar #10 to #2 - redrex (03/23/2013) [-]
whenever i played those older games, i thought the graphics couldn't get any better. Now with todays graphics, i think the same thing. Am I wrong? is there still room for improvement when games like this almost look like a ******* video camera was attached to the car? I am really curious

Well it works like this, every new console or pc generation allows for more polygons to be use simultaneously. usually it multiplys by about 10. this is why the jump from say the playstation 1 to the ps2 was much more drastic looking then the ps3 to the now ps4. its the same amount of jump, but the polygons were already so small on the ps3 that there isnt much of a surface difference, you have to start looking at the small details to really see the improvement. I can see the playstation 7 being the last one before the naked eye can tell any significant difference. from further generations. and by then who knows, maybe everything will be virtual reality. and your brain creates the textures and shapes and smooths them out into perfect realism.
#108 to #26 - anon (03/23/2013) [-]
Also the texture resolutions increase

Need for Speed Most Wanted (The older one not the remake) Will always be in my humble opinion the best racing game of all time.
User avatar #22 to #21 - bigbeaufort ONLINE (03/23/2013) [-]
Underground 2 (in my humble opinion) will be the better. I enjoyed the individual shops the game had. The only bad thing about it was, no cops. They need to remake it IMO.

Second that, I just loved to crush police cars in the most crazy ways I could find. One of my favourite techniques was to drive on the wrong side of the road at full speed, pass a truck very close as a police car drove next to me, and let the police car crash to oblivion into the truck

My friend recently gave me his brand new copy cuz he never plays video games anymore, and I hadn't played the game since it had came out on the original Xbox. And let me tell you...the game hasn't aged too well. I mean it was definitely my favorite back when it came out, but now... **** man.
User avatar #134 to #24 - mehmachine (03/23/2013) [-]
Really? I mean, I just played through it again and I enjoyed every minute of it but hey I cant tell you what to enjoy.
User avatar #28 to #21 - EnergizierAnon (03/23/2013) [-]
i enjoy the Midnight Club games.

The only reason i beat the game was because i hated that goddamn asshole Razer (Razor?), and I wanted to get back at him. He was one of the biggest videogame pricks I'd ever encountered. Him, and the cop who keyed my car. Ugh.

I hope EA continues the Underground series. NFS UG 2 was the best!

They killed Most Wanted, as they will Underground if they decide to make a third one. You know it's the truth.

Need for speed most wanted on the PS2 has got to be one of my top 10 games ever.
#103 - imbateman (03/23/2013) [-]
I really like Most Wanted, one of my favourite childhood games
#1 - anon (03/22/2013) [-]
You missed Hot Pursuit 2.

Carbon was my fav
User avatar #104 to #102 - thatsnotmyname (03/23/2013) [-]
carbon was so good, the canyon battles were epic
User avatar #48 - AnonsForSure (03/23/2013) [-]
Underground 2 was the last good NFS game.
User avatar #72 to #48 - chiktikkavaspaus (03/23/2013) [-]
As unrealistic as it is, I really like Shift 2.

But yeah, you're right. Most wantes was great too.
User avatar #49 to #48 - listerthepessimist (03/23/2013) [-]
^^this, after Underground 2, it's devolution
User avatar #76 to #49 - chiktikkavaspaus (03/23/2013) [-]
After most wanted it was devolution.
User avatar #82 to #76 - listerthepessimist (03/23/2013) [-]
Most Wanted was good, but it wasn't Underground 2
User avatar #83 to #82 - chiktikkavaspaus (03/23/2013) [-]
Exactly. It was an evolution from underground 2. It took the best parts about underground 2 and made them better.

Underground 2 is still amazing though.
User avatar #95 to #83 - listerthepessimist (03/23/2013) [-]
That's the opposite of what I said
User avatar #98 to #95 - chiktikkavaspaus (03/23/2013) [-]
You said that Most Wanted wasn't Underground 2, and I said exactly. That's what they were going for. An evolution. A better game.
User avatar #106 to #98 - listerthepessimist (03/23/2013) [-]
They might well have been going for a better game, but they didn't make one, yes Most Wanted is good, but some of the better features from Underground 2 seemed to fall by the wayside.
User avatar #59 to #48 - alexrider (03/23/2013) [-]
Underground 1- NFS Carbon are the best ones, but I enjoy the newest Most Wanted one too.
#143 - FightClub (03/23/2013) [-]
funny thing is, they were better in the past and their entertainment factor steadily decreased as the quality of the graphics increased
User avatar #91 - supermegasherman (03/23/2013) [-]
i loved the old most wanted. played through it like 8 times. everything went downhill after that. until they got to most wanted again
User avatar #54 - ChronoBoost (03/23/2013) [-]
Up until Carbon, the series was great. The original Most Wanted is still my favourite, and Underground 1 and 2 were good excluding the fact that you had to rice up your car to make progress.

Then Carbon came out, and while the level of customization was great, the game overall was lackluster.

Now the game is just a huge sellout.
User avatar #69 to #54 - fjvoodoo (03/23/2013) [-]
I agree with you except I rather enjoyed Carbon. Sure it was short and easy, but it sure was a good time killer.
User avatar #172 - mikaelkid (03/23/2013) [-]
Most Wanted (Original version) for the win.
#135 - anon (03/23/2013) [-]
If you think about it, the Need for Speed now is how Need for Speed always has been. The underground, Most Wanted, Carbon, etc. series where really just spinoffs. But they were the best. Carbon will always be the last great nfs game.
User avatar #126 - masterboll (03/23/2013) [-]
i started on NFS MW

never had so much of an adrenaline rush from playing a game
User avatar #120 - hassanane (03/23/2013) [-]

User avatar #122 to #120 - Vpirate ONLINE (03/23/2013) [-]
I loved that one.

My babysitter gave me Underground when I was like 11. That really kickstarted the gearhead in my. Almost 8 years later, and here I sit with four vehicles and nowhere near enough parts for all of them.
Thank you, Danielle. You both made my life awesome and totally screwed my savings account with that one game.
