Well, it's Monty Python, so it's worth thumbing.

An American, a Dutch and a Germany go into a bar
The American orders American beer
The Dutch orders a Heineken
The Germany orders a Spezi

The other two look at the Germany perplexed
Then the Germany says:"what? If your not drinking beer, I'm not going to either"
User avatar #26 to #20 - malacyman (03/22/2013) [-]
heineken is pretty good. it's one of the few beers i will drink.

i think we can all agree that Old Milwaukee and brava are the worst beers you can buy
User avatar #39 to #26 - minecraftlamer (03/22/2013) [-]
heineken is considerd as piss in most other beer loving euro countrys.

im belgian and here we say (enter good beer name) consumed by a horse, pissed out in a bucket produces heineken
User avatar #54 to #39 - astropuke (03/22/2013) [-]
Agreed. Same with Becks in Germany.

Funny, they don't sell Fosters in Australia.
User avatar #14 to #5 - billybong (03/22/2013) [-]
You aren't looking hard enough. It's there in Dan murphy's
User avatar #57 to #14 - astropuke (03/22/2013) [-]
He didn't say it wasn't there, he just said they don't sell it.
User avatar #59 to #57 - billybong (03/22/2013) [-]
And I'm saying they DO sell it, In the store called "Dan Murphy's" which is a popular Liquor chain in Australia.

Not that anyone in Australia drinks it. Only tourists usually buy it.
User avatar #60 to #59 - astropuke (03/22/2013) [-]
The joke was that they have it, but nobody buys it because it's **** .
User avatar #61 to #60 - billybong (03/22/2013) [-]
I'm pretty sure the joke is Eric Idle taking the piss on American beer as a stereotype Australian.

If anon was making a joke... I don't get it...
User avatar #63 to #61 - astropuke (03/22/2013) [-]
"He didn't say it wasn't there, he just said they don't sell it."

This is the joke I refer to, if nobody buys the beer because it is so **** , then nobody can sell the beer, therefore for the purposes of the joke "they don't sell it" because it doesn't sell. Alternatively, I could be implying that it is so worthless a product due to low quality and therefore low demand that it is given away for free, not sold, ie: "..they don't sell it.. ..they give it away.."
User avatar #65 to #63 - billybong (03/22/2013) [-]
Aah, I took it you could tell...

By the way, I looked it up, and technically lots of Australians do drink Fosters, but It's mostly sold under another name in Australia (VB), and exported to other countries under the fosters name. themoreyouknow
User avatar #66 to #65 - astropuke (03/22/2013) [-]
Perhaps times have changed, but I distinctly remember VB tasting very different to the Fosters you get in Europe now. Both of them are and have always been terrible, but they didn't use to be the same. VB always had a richer, sicklier, more trashwater flavour, whereas Fosters is more insipid, watery with unbalanced bitterness.
#67 to #66 - billybong (03/22/2013) [-]
I like VB.... so long as it's off tap. But I can't stand Fosters and I've only ever tasted it from a can which in my opinion kills the flavour, so even though I'm Australian, I couldn't say for sure.

But it all comes from "The fosters group", that's all I know. They're all probably brewed a bit differently. (Not like Duff in the pic here)
User avatar #68 to #67 - astropuke (03/22/2013) [-]
How can anyone like VB? This makes no sense to me.
User avatar #70 to #68 - billybong (03/22/2013) [-]
acquired taste?

But I like VB, Carlton Draft, Coopers, and Tooheys Extra Dry, But can't stand Toohey's New Each to their own I guess?
User avatar #71 to #70 - astropuke (03/22/2013) [-]
I didnt mind Carlton Draught, all those C.U.B are pretty mediocre imo though

You list alcohol concentration differently than we do. Measuring by weight vs. measuring by volume. It's not that big of a difference.

#31 to #28 - Uranium (03/22/2013) [-]
haha then you're not too different from a lot of Americans. Budlight isn't popular cause its good its cause its dirt cheap theres only two cheaper beers that i can think of.
#35 to #31 - ybigballz (03/22/2013) [-]
only two??? busch, schmidt, keystone, pabst blue ribbon, natural, and ranier... and those are just the brands that popped into my head in 45 secs
#72 to #35 - Uranium (03/23/2013) [-]
PBR and busch cost the same as bud and I've never heard of Ranier.
#73 to #72 - ybigballz (03/23/2013) [-]
i just bought a sixer of busch tall boys and it was a dollar cheaper than the bud light sixer, and Ranier is kinda a local thing, youtube the "Ranier beer bear" they are old corny commercials about a local beer
#74 to #73 - Uranium (03/23/2013) [-]
I'm lucky that my beer on the budget is Yuengling and it is a fantastic mass production brew.

Niether does midstrength.

23 euro cents for a half-litre in LIDL last time I was in Hamburg. German beer is not dear at all.

User avatar #13 - richardastley (03/22/2013) [-]
I think it's more like having sex near a toilet... Canadian beer has like the same alcohol content, but it manages to have some kind of decent flavour to it at least.
#32 to #13 - Uranium (03/22/2013) [-]
XXX Molson tastes like butt i think. Very bitter i think its just barely a lager
User avatar #69 to #32 - richardastley (03/22/2013) [-]
I've never had XXX Molson. Usually when I think Canadian beers, I think Molson Canadian and Labatt Blue, just because those two are extremely popular.

To be fair, a lot of Canadians drink Budweiser, Bud Light, and Coors Light (at least where I'm from). I used to like Budweiser when I was younger, and Bud Light and Coors are really good right after finishing any kind of hard work on a hot day because they pretty much taste like cold carbonated water. lol

it might help that he picks something other than canned beer
#30 - Uranium (03/22/2013) [-]
As an American I hate most American beers. Budweiser is good only when it is ice cold on a very hot day. Otherwise I'll drink Yuengling, Sam Adams, Franziskaner weisse dunkel if its in season and the occasional stout, porter, or bock/double bock
