Right? I don't have overflowing respect for protesters and people bitching all the time about their problems.

User avatar #149 to #55 - mexicoman (03/19/2013) [-]
A healthy dosage of anger directed correctly is what started the civil rights movement. What it takes is knowing those things that are worth yelling about.
User avatar #250 to #149 - AquariusCyclone (03/21/2013) [-]
Yeah, but it had an organizing morale-boosting leader (MLK) and it was against a socially-mediated menace. The economy is more technical.

As heartfelt and deep this comic is, It's inaccurate. In this day and age, **** doesn't change from protesting and **** .

Its sucks, but that's how it is.
User avatar #30 to #5 - famouswillqc **User deleted account** (03/19/2013) [-]
Because sitting on our ass and say things like ''oh well the government is **** but i cant change it so ill just let it be'' and '' I can't make a difference '' will change much more ?
User avatar #37 to #30 - iamkagji ONLINE (03/19/2013) [-]
no. real action needs to be taken. protests are just words, and words will fall on deaf ears. do something that needs no words, but still sends a strong message.
#47 to #5 - fuddrucker (03/19/2013) [-]
I think the comic was more about taking a stand in something you believe in. The woman begins to realize that her life is **** . Instead of sitting around and just living in the **** , shes out their fighting for her beliefs. I agree that nowadays protests dont do **** , but those that feel strongly about it can die knowing that at least they werent on their asses living in a crap life.

(thought this doesnt always apply. A lot of protests now are for stupid things, or things involving the church. Not bashing religion in any way. Just saying)
User avatar #137 to #5 - daentraya (03/19/2013) [-]
Yeah, but i like riots. I dont like being in them, but masses of disgruntled people is always nice.
I blame George Carlin for this. ***** entertaining

>what is the Arab Spring
#127 to #19 - anon (03/19/2013) [-]
A series of actual revolutions (not to be confused with protests or short-lived riots) to replace brutal governments with slightly more constitutional ones.

The Arab Spring is not about nationalizing industries, blaming relative poverty on those with jobs, ignoring overpopulation, or keeping businesses from using fossil fuels while relying on them for personal use.
#125 to #19 - munchman (03/19/2013) [-]
Most of it were revolutions, not pacific protests. And in most of them the countries changed for the worst.
#189 - milkshakerz (03/19/2013) [-]
Gettin' real tired of this sites hipster-esque ******** . We're a pro-protesting group when it's a small movement but despise it when it's viewed as a large population. And tomorrow, we will have a left wing post with right wing replies right after the right wing post with left wing replies.

The moral is, don't ever think about what your protesting for, because if you don't protest, you're a pussy.
