I graduated from a Catholic Highschool.
I used to think many posts on FJ and 9gag were pure cancer, but my "cancer standards" were changed when I saw the awful catholic memes that my high school friends posted after the new pope was selected. Just look at this **** . There are some even worse than this one.

That was a pretty stupid thing to say, no one gives a **** what you call the pope. I'm gonna call you Queerbait.

you realize almost every pope changes his name when he is elected right?
Benedict XVI was Joseph Ratzinger
John Paul II was Karol Wojtyła
User avatar #13 to #9 - slapchoppin (03/18/2013) [-]
what do you call a good rat joke?

a Ratzinger
User avatar #21 to #9 - neoexdeath (03/18/2013) [-]
How the **** do you pronounce Wojtyła?
#26 to #21 - hinji **User deleted account** (03/18/2013) [-]
Afaik it's "Woy-Tee-La(a?)" (don't know how the german "a" is correctly represented in english, it's something like the "u" in "but")
User avatar #31 to #4 - Danzig (03/18/2013) [-]
His name is Robert Paulson.

You know, I'm an atheist, but this new pope seems like a pretty good guy, unlike pope Nazinger.

He kidnapped children in the Dirty War and put them in the detention centres, for whatever the military wanted to do with them. He was tried and put into court as a Cardinal, he is one of the biggest wankstains on this planet. Spread the word.
User avatar #20 to #11 - luquaz (03/18/2013) [-]
he said that it is child abuse if gay parents adopts a child without a home.
#49 to #20 - tomthehippie (03/18/2013) [-]
No, he said a gay couple adopting a child is child abuse because the child deserves to have both a mother and a father, not two fathers or two mothers.
User avatar #54 to #49 - luquaz (03/18/2013) [-]
what's the ******* difference? you must be very evil to say that a child is better of being in the system of the state than with a loving family.
#56 to #54 - tomthehippie (03/18/2013) [-]
when the **** did I ever say that?

No, I think the pope is a complete tard for saying that, I was merely correcting you on what the pope said.

**** , how about you twist what I'm saying again?
User avatar #25 to #11 - zaizer (03/18/2013) [-]
Yes, for what I've heard he actually lived a humble life, thought I didn't like the fact he firmly opposed against gay marriage in any way, called gay couple adoption child abuse and opposed the sex change choice of trans.

14 people were actually cured of HIV
#3 to #2 - tasomo (03/18/2013) [-]
Actually none of them were cured. Cured means the virus is gone. The only thing the retroviral did was get their immune systems to recognize the virus and kill it at about the same speed as it was reproducing. All 14 still have HIV and they can still pass it on to other people via sex or transfusion, the chance is just much smaller now.

They're not cured, they're treated and healthy.
#27 to #3 - notafunnyguy (03/18/2013) [-]

Well, medicines used to do that before. I guess there should be hope for what the immune system could do together with medicines
#16 to #3 - anon (03/18/2013) [-]
Some have been cured in that no hiv has been found in their bodies through dangerous and potentially deadly bone marrow transplants. Those people were already dying to get the transplant though.

i need more explanation for "breath test for cancer". what does that mean?
#43 to #40 - ftsfts ONLINE (03/18/2013) [-]
I'm not too familiar on the mechanics of the breathe test and too lazy to research, however, a particular type of cancer can now be detected through a simple breathe test. I'm assuming that some sort of protein or something is released in the breathe by the cancerous mass or something like that but that's just my guess.
#44 to #40 - justtocomment (03/18/2013) [-]
Yeah, I'd be lying if I said I knew the specifics, but they recently came out with a system that could detect certain strains of cancer through a simple breath test, rather than any painful invasive procedures.
#45 to #44 - justtocomment (03/18/2013) [-]
Also making it easier to detect cancer in more people with little monetary cost to the patient, allowing for even under-privileged folks to determine that they have cancer, and allow them the heads up needed to take the right steps in preventing the need for things like chemo.
