**** university tuition. Athletes receiving full scholarships instead of kids who may not be athletically talented but are very smart, new athletics buildings being built, and huge salaries for college presidents. I mean what the **** people. We don't value education very much in the country, obviously.

No, we value capitalism. Capitalism means that I can do whatever I want with your money as long as you willingly give it to me. So that's what they're gonna do. Be good capitalists.

It pisses me off they offer full rides to athletes because they well receive a return of the money they gave out faster from an athlete if their sports teams are great. Essentially, colleges are ****** up because in a capitalistic society, colleges have to be competitive economically as well, which in my opinion, is wrong because Americans need to be taught not bought.

You do realize that investing in sports is just that right? An investment?

Originally, yes. But now their are gender laws for college sports. Sorry women, no one wants to watch you play basketball, or softball. So they have to waste money on female athletic scholarships and female sports programs that will COST them money. Sports and school shouldn't be tied together, they should be separate.

Not at all.

1. College is a new level of sports. So you're saying sports should cease after high school?
2. What about the athletes that are really smart? What about me? I'm about to graduate with a Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering, but I wrestle. I'm not allowed to wrestle for my school?
3. Sports are an INVESTMENT for the school. They bring in money. They (most importantly) get the school's name out there. This is how they raise application rates. People know about the school through... lets hear it... sports.
4. Duh they wont invest in womens sports. Nobody likes watching it.

Not saying sports should stop after high school, just that they shouldn't be intermixed. You have something called "club" sports. You still compete at high levels and you represent your club instead of your school.

Comparing club sports to collegiate level athletes is like comparing stephen hawkings to Usain Bolt.

Club is another word for team, like soccer, they call them clubs. It's "club sports" because they aren't affiliated with the schools of the cities they are in. Not the intramurals clubs that are in American colleges.

I'm aware of what club sports are.

They still don't hold a candlelight to collegiate level athletes.
