Actually I think the helmet is for objects falling such as tools or debris in case they knock him out

No, I'm not afraid of heights; I'm afraid of hitting solid concrete at several hundred miles per hour.

#87 to #29 - wambamtymama (03/17/2013) [-]
fastest you can fall is from an airplane is 180 km/h which is 111 mph so its only falling a hundred miles. not hundreds.
User avatar #57 to #29 - adrianking (03/17/2013) [-]
Terminal velocity for a human body is just barely over a hundred miles per hour.

So you've got nothing to be afraid of.
User avatar #58 to #29 - akuseru (03/17/2013) [-]
Actually, the terminal velocity, if I'm not mistaken, is around 120 mph for the average human. Still gonna suck hitting the concrete, but hopefully that set your mind o rest, even if only slightly.

I've heard the whole thing that "you're not afraid of heights, you're afraid of falling", but am I the only one that's actually scared of tall buildings? I mean, I can stand on the ledge of a tall building, look down, and not be scared, but actually looking at a tall building from the ground petrifies me.
#44 to #43 - Rascal (03/17/2013) [-]
I know that feel bro.

why..
User avatar #66 to #60 - PedoBearFTW (03/17/2013) [-]
I... I don't know.
User avatar #97 to #66 - thefoxyfox (03/17/2013) [-]
i get that too, but i'm also afraid of looking down from a ledge. whenever i try to look up at a building i get really dizzy especially if i'm walking at the same time.

also, so your fear seems less weird, here's another one of mine: on google earth or any program like that, i get terrified when i try to zoom in on a body of water. i have no idea why, but it just freaks me out. i'm able to enter an ocean physically without worry, though. except last summer when i saw a stingray. got out and stayed out for the rest of the trip.
User avatar #151 to #97 - PedoBearFTW (03/17/2013) [-]
Water is my biggest fear, I absolutely despise it. But yes, I completely agree with you on the walking thing, I do it all the time and sometimes I get dizzy to the point where I almost fall down. It's ridiculous.
User avatar #83 to #66 - theuglypanda (03/17/2013) [-]
Were you raped by a tall building as a child?

I think it's so if he fails and swings against the building he wouldn't crack his skull open. Don't mind me though
