But everyone doesn't have the same waist size as me.
User avatar #344 to #339 - tylosaurus (03/16/2013) [-]
That's the meaning of life from an animal's/nature's point of view.

However, since we are no longer (excuse me saying this if you're easily offended) "simple" animals. We have our own standards and each our own meaning. gays won't spread their genes to other generations so therefore the abov definition doesn'tt quite fit everyone.

Oh and for the post. If the meaning of life was death, couldn't you just go stab yourself and thus you've fulfilled the meaning of life?

What is the difference between us and animals that we're smarter?
User avatar #351 to #348 - tylosaurus (03/16/2013) [-]
We have sex for pleasure, we're smarter, we can drive cars, we can construct highly advanced things, we have emotions unlike most animals, or at least "more" emotions. Way more. We have a lot.

Why are you asking though?
#399 to #351 - nephrithotroll (03/16/2013) [-]
Bonobo apes have sex for fun, greetings, conflict resolution and more.
Bonobo's is often called dwarf chimp
We humans are not the only animals that use tools.
some ape spieces use tools.
Crows and ravens use tools there are lot of animals that use tools.
the only difference is that we are able to use metals. Which took +/- 200,000 years until our brain was evolved enough to use it and yet we abuse it for conflict such as WAR.
We humans are just Semi civilized BEASTS.
#400 to #399 - tylosaurus (03/16/2013) [-]
You're kidding right? I never said animals aren't able to USE tools.

We can CREATE things such as plastic. Not only metal. Do you thinj everything is made out of metal?
How the **** are we only semi civilized? We ARE civilized. Do you even know what civilized means?
Here you go, since you obviously don't know what civilized means:
civ·i·lized (sv-lzd)
1. Having a highly developed society and culture.
2. Showing evidence of moral and intellectual advancement; humane, ethical, and reasonable: terrorist acts that shocked the civilized world.
3. Marked by refinement in taste and manners; cultured; polished.

No I'm so mad right now.

btw, what you're just saying is incorrect.

the fact that sex feels so good is because it's the act for fulfilling your purpose in life. Unconsciously you want to have sex to reproduce. Consciously you wrap your willy to have the child at the right time so you can invest in your kid enough to make sure it surtvives and has kids of its own. evolutionary biology, ************

Do tell me why there are only two animals that I can think of aside from us that do it for the pleasure.
User avatar #361 to #357 - penetractor (03/16/2013) [-]
for most animals the survival needs are more important (finding food, avoiding predators etc) so they have le sexytime only when there is actually a chance to reproduce. And also the menstrual cycle of most other mammals is longer, human females can get preggo every month, for most mammals its only a couple of times a year. This might not be a proper explanation, but at the moment this seems logical
User avatar #366 to #361 - tylosaurus (03/16/2013) [-]
That's definitely not a good explanation.
My cat has all day, doing nothing. Not interested in sex what so ever.

Are you saying humans aren't busy? The amount of people that wants to kill themselves because of stress doesn't agree.
User avatar #368 to #366 - penetractor (03/16/2013) [-]
you have to think from the evolutionary perspective. We evolved in a very different world that we live in today. But yea i cant actually give a straight answer to why so few mammals have casual sex, look it up from the internet. Some evolutionary biology articles from Nature or smthn
User avatar #369 to #368 - tylosaurus (03/16/2013) [-]
We did that because we're smart and have thumbs, what about it?
User avatar #353 to #351 - beatmasterz (03/16/2013) [-]
That mostly falls under "we're smarter" though.
I just think the only thing that really makees a difference is that we're smarter and we have thumbs. But that's evolution. So really we have the same motives and purposes as savage beasts and other animals.
User avatar #356 to #353 - tylosaurus (03/16/2013) [-]
Regardless, being smarter is what matters and our emotions. Monkeys and other animals also have thumbs..
We still have sex for pleasure. The only competing animals in this case are dolphins. I think also pigs.
I don't see humans live in caves or in trees, hunting with their bare hands and eating things raw. I didn't say we weren't animals, but we're definitely not with savage and beast motives. Unless you're insane, which the average human isn't. We educate ourselves, cry because of things that are not the death of a family member. Animals don't really do that.
User avatar #358 to #356 - beatmasterz (03/16/2013) [-]
This is all because of our intelligence though. Because of that, we can build houses and cars. But becaus that we also become aware of things, that's why we have emotions.
I don't have evidence of this but I suspect. I mean if you look at a fly, the most primitive animal, he has no emotions whatsoever. If you look at a dog, who is a lot smarter, he can also have compassion and love and sadness. When you climb further up the tree, we have humans. Who are the smartest and have the most emotions to our disposal.
So because of our intelligence, we think we're better than beasts, but in reality, we just evolved further.
#359 to #358 - tylosaurus (03/16/2013) [-]
Sooo what are you arguing for?

I literally said we aren't simple animals. I didn't deny that we aren't animals.
User avatar #360 to #359 - beatmasterz (03/16/2013) [-]
alrighty then.
