here's my subie. its only the WRX though. how could you do that to and STi.
User avatar #73 to #68 - puredeliciousness (03/13/2013) [-]
Idk, crazy ass people. But you're from Iowa, eh? Minnesota FJ'er here.
User avatar #75 to #73 - JohnTheRipper (03/13/2013) [-]
it makes me cringe. the only thing I actually care about on the STi is the motor and.....it's ****** .....yeah im from Iowa. Ive got family in Minnesota. You a car man?
User avatar #78 to #75 - puredeliciousness (03/13/2013) [-]
Indeed I am. I had an Acura TL until I kinda sorta accidentally totaled it on prom night... And no, I wasn't drinking or anything, it was just a freak accident. ******* Hindu's.
But I'm thinking about trying to save up for a Lancer or an Evo.
User avatar #88 to #78 - JohnTheRipper (03/13/2013) [-]
I would get an Evo but I love the flat 4 boxer platform on the subaru to much.
User avatar #82 to #78 - JohnTheRipper (03/13/2013) [-]
if you are going to save up dont even bother with a base lancer. Just go straight to an Evo. lol if you saw what I drove for prom in high school you would poop. one year I drove a 70 chevelle SS clone.....still has the 454 with a 400 turbo tranny and a 12 bolt rear. next year I drove the 04 GTO.....only an LS1 though :( BUT I do have open headers dumping straight from the long tubes and let me tell ya if makes the ground shake.....the WRX is my DD.
User avatar #89 to #82 - puredeliciousness (03/13/2013) [-]
That's sick as hell dude. If my dad didn't pass away right before my freshman year in High School, we wouldn't have had to sell our 71 Torino GT Convertible, which, if I'm not mistaken, might have had a 404 put in it, but otherwise all original, and I probably would have driven that bad ass mother ****** to my senior prom.
User avatar #93 to #89 - JohnTheRipper (03/13/2013) [-]
yeah my dad passed back when I was in 7th grade and he left me a 69 charger. lolinb4dukesofhazzard. I never drive it. Ever.
User avatar #94 to #93 - JohnTheRipper (03/13/2013) [-]
he literally left it to me. in the will. it is mine. the chevelle and the GTO are just 2 cars he had and we now own. I would have also had his big purple harley but he sold it.
User avatar #98 to #94 - puredeliciousness (03/13/2013) [-]
Either my brother or I would have gotten my dads (this might be like 2-3 years off) '61 custom Harley Panhead, but the bike ended up getting totaled when he got into his accident and died. That was a glorious bike.
User avatar #99 to #98 - JohnTheRipper (03/13/2013) [-]
my dad just had a 03 Harley Davidson Deuce....I think. it was a sick bike though. he had a custom paint job on that thing. hot damn what a beauty. I would take that panhead in a heart beat.
User avatar #101 to #99 - puredeliciousness (03/13/2013) [-]
It really was an amazing bike. One of the walls in our garage was literally entirely covered with best in show trophies and stuff like that. Like, no 2nd places, no runner up, or show or anything like that. The entire wall was covered with 1st's or best in shows. When I was younger I didn't understand what was so special about it, but now that I've grown up and I look at pictures of it, I see what everyone else saw in it.
User avatar #113 to #101 - JohnTheRipper (03/13/2013) [-]
the chevelle and charger have won 1st in most of the competitions they have been in.

Personally, I think it would have looked better if it were restored to look like an original, Stingrays are beautiful.

damn straight it does. dat american muscle. you want gas mileage? my chevelle gets 6 mpg. the GTO gets 17 on average with longtubes and cutouts.
User avatar #100 to #86 - arizonastar (03/13/2013) [-]
you know there are only like sixty L82 that exist, and nobody with title of "girl friend" owns one. its prolly a 350 4spd like all other smog era vettes are.
User avatar #103 to #100 - JohnTheRipper (03/13/2013) [-]
I just had to know if it was one of the rare ones, man. and yeah I guess. **** . I have to rip the smog pump off my 88 GT. thanks for reminding me.
User avatar #105 to #103 - arizonastar (03/13/2013) [-]
actaully, im assuming you dont live in a smog state (me either i live in ND) anyways one thing I always wanted to try, if you have a leak at one of the main seals or the oil pan, mount the smog air pump backwards (so it turns opposite) and hook the inlet tube to the valve cover and it should stop the leak by pulling a slightly lower pressure than atmospheric, and prolly will stop the leak. or if not then be sure to sell it, if it works people in like cali pay big for functional smog equipment (pre 76')
User avatar #108 to #105 - JohnTheRipper (03/13/2013) [-]
I do not live in a smog state. **** . that would blow dick. Im not much of a man for simple fixes like that though. If I had a leak at the main seal or oil pan gasket Id pull the engine and rip it apart plus if a main seal is going bad that could sooner or later lead to crank walk and we dont want that now do we. yeah Im sure it works. Ill have to check it out. Its leaching like 5 horses off the engine and so is the A/C pump which currently has no lines running to it so it is just sitting there doing nothing. I have to take both of those out.
User avatar #114 to #108 - arizonastar (03/13/2013) [-]
im confused... how does a seal failure lead to crank walk, I'm getting the feeling your repeating what you've heard others say, the crank "end play" (walk) is determined by thrust bearings on the center main journal.... a seal is simply a seal to keep oil in and contaminants out.
User avatar #115 to #114 - JohnTheRipper (03/13/2013) [-]
im getting my **** all mixed up. pardon me. crank walk is too much movement of the crank.
