I have a friend with OCD, and it's really nothing like this. He sometimes has to wash his hands for 45-90 minutes, and occasionally they'll start bleeding and if I try to stop him, he'll get really agitated and upset. OCD is about doing things in a precise way, every time. This is being pedantic, not OCD.

it would be ocd if the person who took the picture tried to forcefully fix the problem though right?
not that it is a problem but you know what i mean
#47 to #46 - muchosgustaman (03/12/2013) [-]
I suppose so, but unless they empty out the tank and try again, it's not really OCD.

There needs to be a different word for this feeling than "OCD."

HURR DURR I HAVE OCD. Apparently everyone on the internet has OCD
User avatar #78 to #76 - enorus (03/12/2013) [-]
According to one of the comments everyone has OCD.
But then why is it called a disorder?
User avatar #81 to #78 - nicoquitemad (03/12/2013) [-]
Well everybody has legs too, but if your legs are twenty times longer than your body, you've got a disorder.
User avatar #85 to #81 - enorus (03/12/2013) [-]
That would be like saying that normal people have mild long leg disorder, it doesn't make any sense.
User avatar #86 to #85 - nicoquitemad (03/12/2013) [-]
Well severe OCD is, as far as I know, a biological problem with a couple of pathways present in your brain. Technically the severe OCD is just an enhanced version of what everybody has. It'd almost be like super vision or super speed if it's effects weren't in the way of living normally.
User avatar #99 to #76 - commontroll ONLINE (03/12/2013) [-]
I think everybody has a bit of every 'disorder' that we diagnose. It only becomes a disorder when it gets in the way though. For instance, every body has had times where they think somebody calls their name, clear as day, or letters are swapped at some point, or you just have that one thing you can't help but do, have trouble focusing on one topic for prolonged times, lack of understanding and/or compassion, etc.

Main thing is that for most of us, it doesn't get in the way, so we carry on like wayward sons.

**** OCD, i wish petrol was that cheap where I live!!
10 gallons in the UK would cost double that!!

User avatar #70 to #42 - manofbeardliness (03/12/2013) [-]
Huh that sucks, it varies everywhere in the states. I live 15 minutes from my states line and can go past it and gas in 20 cents cheaper.

Every part.
#5 to #2 - jwpro (03/12/2013) [-]
well then again road taxes are included in the price of petrol so taxes are less, also you don't have a penny, lucky bastard. (pennys cost more to make than their spending power)
User avatar #6 to #2 - jlpeters (03/12/2013) [-]
gas in Omaha Nebraska only 3.65
User avatar #51 to #2 - skullzero (03/12/2013) [-]
Yeah, this is why i don't how Americans can complain about their "high" gas prices... They complain about everything because they don't know about anything outside their country..

£1.39 per litre for me.
x 45.4609 (1 litre to 10 gal)
= £63.19
= $94.35

So more than double, about 236% more expensive for me in the UK. **** .

most of it is tax, like 70% of it
#107 to #4 - comusat (03/13/2013) [-]
your skills are impressive.
I couldn't be arsed working that out!!

don't forget the american gallon is smaller though, it's 3.8 litres I think not like our bigger, more impressive gallons.
User avatar #108 to #107 - moorbs (03/13/2013) [-]
Oh is it?!
Silly Americans and their small changes.
in that case:
£1.39 x 37.854
=£52.62
=$78.54

So you were pretty much right, double the price here :P

I'll...i'll agree to that. My girlfriend has OCD, and she washes her hands in boiling ******* water a thousand times a day. Her hands are constantly blistered and she develops calloused skin all over her hands. So it actually offends me when people are like

"oHeMgEe 39.99 is sO wRoNg, mY OcD!!!1!"
User avatar #35 to #15 - worstposter (03/12/2013) [-]
I have OCD, but i wouldn't exacly call dermatophagia "clean". I have an obsession to chew of the skin around my fingernails...
User avatar #16 to #15 - kikisu (03/12/2013) [-]
I have OCD and it makes me obsessively think about things that aren't "right", like those numbers, until I fix it. You don't have to clean your hands to be OCD.

10000 gallons? Holy **** you must have a huge car!
User avatar #45 to #43 - loneranger (03/12/2013) [-]
In the states it's called a "decimal" where as in Germany (I'm not sure where else) you would use a comma.

if that was realy 10000 gallons you should not be concerned about the car you should focus on 39.99 as the best ******* price ever
User avatar #30 - psychfouronenine (03/12/2013) [-]
This kind of thing is closer to autism than it is OCD... People with OCD essentially have to do things a certain way or they believe something bad will happen (to them or a family member). For instance, Mark Summers (The host of Double Dare) would clean his room top to bottom every day the exact same way, he believed this helped his mother get home safely, and that if he didn't do it, she'd die. That's what drives OCD.
User avatar #33 to #30 - snaresinger (03/12/2013) [-]
Not necessarily. It's sometimes just mentally excruciating to not do them. For example, right now I'm struggling with rotator cuff tendonitis which could turn into frozen shoulder (meaning long months of intensive physical therapy) all because I couldn't keep from obsessively flexing my left shoulder to the point of pain. But you're right, this isn't necessarily OCD.
