How do you know they didn't realize this? They probably played ass creed, and decided to make use of the ubisoft's location work.

Jacob Nybroe, the TV2 Director of News, said that the illustrator googled "Damascus". He used the best picture. He could not tell that it was animated.

Are you ******* kidding me? I put the link to this up yesterday and it got -3 thumbs. Now when someone else puts it up it makes front page fml....

Some people us a program you can download that lets you thumb up your own content. They will thumb it up, to lets say 200 then let the sheep do the rest.

I saw a guy upload something and in 5 minutes have 400 thumbs...seems legit.

It's because it was a link, not the picture. Our attention spans are far too short for that

Well **** , you actually did upload first. Since this was uploaded on the 10th but is still within 24 hours while yours has past that point. Man talk about bi-polar funnyjunk

for the love of god please make an assassins creed in china. the story for AC3 was good but the setting could have been so much better.

an AC game set during the ming dynasty when the brits (templars) were first coming into contact with china would be amazing
User avatar #161 to #137 - adamska (03/11/2013) [-]
I'm sorry but this is a horrible idea.
User avatar #173 to #161 - unworldlypath (03/12/2013) [-]
how so?
User avatar #174 to #173 - adamska (03/13/2013) [-]
Well, for one the architecture of China at the time wouldn't lend itself to Assassin's Creed's free-running gameplay.

Also, the whole chinese/japanese ninja/assassin/samurai thing has been done to death. I really wouldn't care if I never saw/played a movie/game about it again.

In my opinion the next AC game needs a European setting. Victorian era London or Russian Revolution St. Petersburg would be awesome.
User avatar #176 to #174 - adamska (03/13/2013) [-]
Ah, and of course French Revolution France would be sweet too :)
User avatar #175 to #174 - adamska (03/13/2013) [-]
Just to clarify, I'm not saying ninjas or samurai are chinese, but they do have the same kind of asian allure and atmosphere around them.
User avatar #177 to #175 - unworldlypath (03/14/2013) [-]
Victorian london would probably be the best choice, a jack the ripper tie in would be very interesting in a game like that.

the chinese architecture though, would fit right in with the AC feel. cities like Huanbei, Fancheng District, and melikawat would be prime locations for a chinese AC game. the houses were also packed together and the streets were bustling with activity every day.

when you spotlight the asian focus in many forms of media it really is japan that gets the spotlight in games. how many triple A titles have settings like ancient china?

last bit here, Europe has been done quite a bit before, a new aesthetic like asia would be a welcome sight to many

Oh sure, the buildings are close to each other, that's fine. But what China of the time lacked was tall landmarks, and in addition houses and most other buildings were not very tall.
User avatar #179 to #178 - unworldlypath (03/14/2013) [-]
well when you think about it, AC 3 and 1 didn't have many tall buildings either. the viewpoints in those games were just a bit taller than the normal buildings. taller buildings could be worked into a chinese AC game like temples or market squares, even guard towers would work for good viewpoints
User avatar #152 to #137 - theshadowed (03/11/2013) [-]
They don't want eastern Asia as Ninjas would be too cliche
User avatar #155 to #152 - tkfourtwoone (03/11/2013) [-]
China, not Japan, dude.

And I concur: no AC in Japan, it's a lame idea, you've got xxyz other games that treat the subject, possibly better than AC ever could.

The Chinese Assassins, however, were not only confirmed twice by the AC lore, but they fit the idea much better (you know, the Silk Road, all the early trade routes between China and the West...)
User avatar #172 to #155 - theshadowed (03/12/2013) [-]
I realise China isn't Japan, but they have said not China either. Though I could be wrong.
Yeh, I mean with Embers, they confirmed the Chinese Assassins

Easy mistake to make, but you can tell from the towers that it's Damascus.

I still maintain that Assassin's Creed II was and is the best AC game so far.
User avatar #99 to #98 - darthblam (03/11/2013) [-]
I thought Brotherhood was the best to me.. but 2 was good too.
Then it slowly started to lean downhill with Revelations.. and in AC 3 it just ******* tripped.
