Drinking is bad. It's a weakness. I hate the people who go to parties and can't have fun with their friends without alcohol. It's pathetic that they can't enjoy themselves at a ******* party with all their friends without needing to drink. Or the people who hide in a bottle from their problems. It's just a crutch. Man the **** up and deal with your problems. Life is hard, man up. It's also horrible for you body basically like drinking poison.

Party pooper anon is obviously a recluse
#40 to #38 - anon (03/09/2013) [-]
actually i'm not. I go out a lot with my friends, but the difference is we don't need to drink to have fun. IF you need to drink to have fun with a group of friends then you're just a boring person in general. Or you need to find new friends. Just because I don't like to poison myself doesn't mean i'm a recluse...

why should it be your ******* business on how people handle there problems? let people enjoy there drinks and quit bitching. Its there choice if they want to drink not yours.
#31 to #29 - anon (03/09/2013) [-]
Actually it is my business as a tax paying American citizen. Their medical bills indirectly come out of my wallet. And that's another thing, their medical bills. They take away doctor's time and resources. Also drunk driving kills many people. Once they enter society they become my problem.
#32 to #31 - skinless (03/09/2013) [-]
doesn't matter either way bitching on funnyjunk and thumbing me down won't change ****

Hopefully someone will see it and decide to stop drinking or decide to talk to their brother or friend or whomever and get them to stop drinking. Even saving 1 person's life is worth it. I want to show people the error of their ways, there's nothing wrong with that. They are drinking a poison.

alcohol is amazing, being able to eat is also a crutch
#25 to #21 - anon (03/09/2013) [-]
... eating is vital to living, drinking alcohol is not.

You say that like everyone who drinks alcohol is like that. That's like saying all black people look alike or all asians can't drive (I know this is the internet, but let me make my point. I feel it's valid.)
#26 to #19 - anon (03/09/2013) [-]
Everyone who drinks is like that.
User avatar #27 to #26 - sheperdofthestars (03/09/2013) [-]
No, they aren't and I know this for a fact because there are several people in my family who only drink on special occasions, and even they they maybe have one or two. It IS possible to drink only a little and not become addicted, no matter what you might think.
#28 to #27 - anon (03/09/2013) [-]
Even a small amount damages the body so they're still poisoning themselves. You should get them to stop unless you don't care about your family and don't care if they die.
User avatar #30 to #28 - sheperdofthestars (03/09/2013) [-]
Look, dude. It's not up to me what they do with their lives. Even if I said something, it would be up to them to stop, not me.

And while we're n this talk of what is harmful to the body, please keep in mind that everyone's body is different, and some peoples' bodies can deal with substances better than others. Smoking causes lung cancer, right? Then explain why my grandmother, who smoked 2 packs a day from the time she was 14 up until the day she died, lived to be 93, and didn't die of lung cancer?

And last, but not lease, we're all dying anyway. Slowly, day by day. If you let the fear of dying stop you you won't ever accomplish anything, or have any fun. I'm not saying do stupid **** like try to jump in a frozen pond or try to set a record for highest blood alcohol level while still conscious, but one or two drinks every once in a blue moon is NOT going to kill you. No matter what you might think.
#33 to #30 - anon (03/09/2013) [-]
You could keep pressuring them to stop and tell them you care. They're slowly killing themselves and you don't seem to care.

Maybe your grandmother could have lived longer if she didn't smoke. Maybe 100. She also definitely would have been healthier throughout her life and could save on medical expenses.

Why shorten the life we have? It's not worth drinking, that's it. There's no point or need. If you can't have fun with a group of your friends without drinking then you're just a boring person in general. I can and do have fun with my friends and we never drink. It's not hard. One or two drinks will still damage the body.

There's obviously no convincing you out of your mindset, so any further discussion of this subject is moot.

And please stop saying I don't care about my family. That is extremely presumptuous of you, as you don't even know me, or my family.

this actually would help by stopping drunk people from having to drive to the liquor store

In my city a group of people decided they needed to run a service where they can deliver a crate to your door.
Not only that but they are faster than most pizza and chippy deliveries in the area.
