I am a lucky enough individual to have enjoyed this heart attack on a plate fine dish. I felt like I could finally die happy.

I made this for Thanksgiving the first time three years ago; it's been my mandatory dish since.

Protip: cook the hamburger portion on low heat in a pan with the lid on. The steam will cook the center, and it can then be safely baked between the pizzas without burning. If the hamburger isn't pre-cooked, it'll either be raw coming out of the oven, or the pizza will be burned if the burger is left to cook completely.

wouldn't there also be a problem if the burger was too moist, making the pizza soggy and therefore lowering the quality of the over all product?

Maybe, slow-cooking it in a pan with the lid on tends to dry out the burger. The pan will be left with a lot of juice in it. I usually pour that out and then cook it a bit longer, never had an issue with sogginess. If it is a concern though, putting the pizza on a lower rack should ensure the crust is crispy.

Then again, I don't like hamburgers to be wet at all either, and normally cook them a bit dry. The condiments add the moisture.
