boss fights were different each time because the bosses weren't the same creature. they required you to study their attack patterns because they were bosses, they're suppose to be hard. most of the human/undead enemies had similar AI. the ring of sacrifice made death pointless, and it was relatively simple to get them. the only thing i can't argue is the healing, because skyrim's healing system was retarded. also, if you died to anything on dark souls before reaching quelaag, you're either new to the game, or just plain bad.

"boss fights were different each time because the bosses weren't the same creature"

rofl, implying the bosses in skyrim WERE the same creatures
WHICH THEY ******* WERE LOL
User avatar #113 to #111 - goodguygary (03/07/2013) [-]
That's what i was implying anon, there was only one boss, and he used the same AI as one of the stronger monsters in the game, because he was one.

because it never needed to, it and dark souls kept me entertained in two separate ways, dark souls kept me thinking about combat, while skyrim's laid back combat system let me focus on the story and the lore.

1st playthrough expert.
I went mage on master so I didn't really get into cqc.
Your argument contradicts itself, either it's too simple because you just have to block or it's too simple because you don't have to block. They're mutually exclusive. Furthermore I didn't set out to make it simple, I set out to make it 'fun'.
Also, ith the stealth crits I can one shot more or less anything that isn't a legendary dragon.
Get off your dildo saddled high horse you elitist ****** .

You complained that it's boring and simple to just take turns blocking and then said a play style that didn't involve blocking was too simple.
You're right about the AI, but the different environments make each battle slightly different.
I can't think of any game where at the very least same enemy types do not follow the same patterns.

I like to switch it up a lot, but I never block, I always dual wield or use a spell in one hand, its way too easy to just dodge out of the way and slowly whittle people down with a dagger or flames but I find it easier to block anyway, so ya gotta keep it interesting. Right?

Because it takes effort to avoid getting hit. Like for instance: Dwarven Spheres, I can dodge one of their attacks without any effort, and the other 2 that they have makes me examine exactly how they move, and my dodge perfectly, and even then it still takes a lot of practice to get it sometimes.
User avatar #55 to #50 - bloodspider (03/07/2013) [-]
Blocking is for the weak, I take my great sword and cram it down their throat. It turns shields into splintered bits of despair.

DMC was pretty simple, only a couple of buttons used for attacks. dark souls is in essence simple in that all you needed to do is block or dodge then attack. can't say for ninja gaiden, because never played it

Oblivion: My friend is trapped in a dream world he created! I need you to go in and pull him out.

loved skyrim but i also felt the quest were lacking, especially the dark brotherhood quest, no stealth was necessary except during the bonus missions and the quest were you kill the captains son...compared to oblivion where if you weren't stealthy you were screwed
User avatar #70 to #68 - thisotherdude (03/07/2013) [-]
I know man, I still think the question in oblivion where you have to infiltrate the party and pretend to be a guest while killing off the other guest was my favourite, nothing in skyrim even came close to it.

Morrowind: Some monsters took over [location I own]. Go kill them plox.
Oblivion: My followers are stuck in my plane of Oblivion! You must be level # to help.
Skyrim: Go fetch my **** plox. I'll give you a sweet roll.
