A kid in my class tweeted about a test. A little birdy told him... The teacher is a dick. A lot of kids take their marks seriously and if he just surprised the kids by giving them the test a day early he could have a lot of kid Post sloths

The teacher is a dick. A lot of kids take their marks seriously and if he just surprised the kids by giving them the test a day early he could have ****** a lot of kids over. Also what the kid tweeted wasn't that bad and he shouldn't embarrass him in front of his class. good job teacher you started a fight against a teenager and won. I'm sure all your students love you

if you studied like you were supposed to that **** wouldnt happen. Teachers have pop quizzes to see how much knowledge students retain. not how good they study the night before.

So if your boss gave you a deadline to get work done, then came a day early and cut your pay because it wasn't ready that'd be cool?

There isn't a way of studying you're "supposed" to do. Teachers give dates, and you know the knowledge by then. If it's the night before then that's just how you do it. What about a kid who was studying it piece by piece every night, and the lost day causes them to miss a night? You **** both of them over. It's a dick move.

Teacher is not a dick. The student had his days mixed up and the test he was thinking of was last week. I know this because this was on reddit two days ago.

my professor doesn't tell us we have an exam until after we've taken it. I know that sounds crazy, but he actually did. we had a quiz in class, and then after handing it in he informed us it would count as half of our exam, with the other half being a quiz 2 days later.

americans reverse their dates and months. as we "normal people" have "dd.mm.yy" they have "mm.dd.yy". pretty ****** up and confusing.

Do people in other countries say "It's the 6th of March 2013." Because in America we say "It's March 6th 2013." I thought that's why we said it like that.

As an American, not sure why you got thumbed down, other than that you were a little pretentious about it.

It isn't that hard to learn and use either way, but it does seem more logical to go in order of amount of time designated (dd/mm/yyyy).

Not like it's that big a deal though. Timekeeping in general is really horrible, and dates back to Egypt I believe. Not like it's Fahrenheit or the English ruler or anything though.

How are Americans not normal. We write the date the same way we say it. 3/6/13. March 6th, 2013.

I think the rest of the world would say it 6 March, 2013. So they say it the way they write it as well. . . and we're not normal because there are only a few (2 or 3, I think?) that write it mm/dd/yyyy. Even our military and government recognizes this is a stupid way to do things, which is why we use the metric system instead of imperial in day to day operations, and we use dd/mm/yyyy. Soon us in the military are probably going to start using Celsius as well. . . I know my commander has been talking about it. America will eventually switch over to all these systems, but we have not yet. From what I understand, when we tried, a lot of teachers weren't teaching it as well as they should have, or were neglecting it, so we kind of gave up.

12 months, 30+ days, 100 years per century, not saying one is better than the other just pointing it out that it's not as stupid as people make it out to be.

Yeah. I don't really mean it's stupid, I don't know why I said that. I meant impractical when compared to the rest of the world. Standardization throughout the world is key in my opinion.
