My high school taught me:

How to pay taxes, how to make and manage a bank account, how to pay bills, how to vote and the differences between conservative and liberal, how to buy a car, house, write a check.

Haha if my dad had to teach me that, I'd be in debt $10,000, owe the bank $500, and be a conservative nut job who thinks any Democrat is the lowest form of the human species.

I look at all the people in the comments who are bitching about high school not teaching them how to pay taxes, how to vote, etc, etc, and I wonder what the **** is wrong with them.

In high school, I learned arithmetic, literacy, and the primal skills that teachers are problem solving and analysis. So if you need highschool to tell you directly what being Liberal or Conservative means, you probably shouldn't vote.

Well, since 99% of Americans think that Norway is the capital city of Sweden, I wonder why they bother to teach you at all.

It's okay, because I'm sure 70% of any European country realizes that Brazil is located in Mexico. Or that Americans tend to be more of a nomad type of people and move on to the next area once Wal-Mart has ran out of supplies.

yeah but the schools dont want kids to go outside and get interested in digging, that might lean towards independent thought....they cant have that

those who study the earth might be inclined to protect it from capitalism mining and raping the **** out of it for resources

Yes, learn geography to become a geologist.... Haha, sorry not trying to be a Grammar Nazi here but....
Geologists work with rocks, they study geology.
Geographers study geography.
