The fact that it says 6 on the square above the last remaining safe square tells you that it's safe. It already has its 6 mines found, so if that square was a mine it would have said 7

Just because (s)he owns a mac doesn't mean (s)he's different, (s)he might like the layout different or something, that's like saying "I hate gay people because they like toast"

Yes you can. It doesn't come built in though, you have to find a downloadable version.

That can't happen; the game generates the mines AFTER the first click.
So even if all but one square is a mine, the first click will be safe.

No, you cannot when you make a NEW game. Only when you restart a previously played game, but that is not the case.

Not on any of the versions I've played. Unless you fail a game and then restart it with the same mine arrangement.

The simple fact that my comments got thumbed down after I contradicted you proves that you're just trying to sound smart by accusing someone else of being wrong. That and the fact that you're not replying to my previous comment proves that you are in fact lying yourself.
If you're going to try and sound smart by stating something that is so clearly ********, at least make an effort to plan your retaliations beforehand.
Now, if you'll do me the kindness of removing those red thumbs that were so obviously put there by YOU, that'd be great.

impossible on official minesweeper games. you either shopped that image, or replayed a previous game. either way you're a faggot.

The only possible way to fail the firstt click is to replay a game after faling it on win7/vista. I just looked into the source code, now you two can shut up.

On newer windows versions you can restart the game with the same mines placement, ergo, being possible to lose on the first move.

On older windows versions, hence older minesweeper versions too, this was not possible, and you would always start with a mine-free move.

Cool side note, if you are playing on WinXP, there is a cheat that causes a single pixel in one of the corners of the screen to go black if there is a mine on the block under your mouse pointer, and white otherwise. When used at the start of the game, you can verify that mines are indeed on the board pre-first click. However if you click a mine, the board will automatically reset to a new board with where that black will not have a mine.

I am pretty sure that is not possible, it doesn't generate the locations of the mines until your first hit so that this never happens. Either that or I have been the luckiest mofo who has ever played minesweeper.

It's not that it isn't generated, it's that it doesn't choose a level until you click the first time. It has all of the levels preloaded into it. However, you are correct.
