I think of Dante, new and Old like Deadpool.
If I'm correct, Deadpool can still feel all the pain, just later on he got so used to it that he could rip his own head off and chuck it..while still feeling pain.
So, we see old Dante here, he's about in his mid 30's, a chucklehead. He's probably used to getting impaled and all that jazz that he, like Deadpool, doesn't mind it..but can still feel it.
Basically, if there is a DmC2, we can basically see old Dante back, still kicking ass as well. Like in the picture above he ripped his chest open to see if he had a heart. To see if he could call himself human.
tl;dr Dante and New Dante are like Deadpool, just give New Dante more time to develop...oh and Tameem off the team.

You do realize in the introduction to DMC3, that Dante took I think 4 or 5 scythes to the body, and just kept walking like "Hmmm, what song to play?" while he eats his pizza. I think he's about 20 at the time.

Good point, I was just thinking about that.
But, you forgot that once Kamiya left they decided to change him to what he is today, well not today, but you know what I mean..Breaking the fourth wall type character.
If anything the new Dante is more like DMC1 Dante, although DMC3-4 Dante are still the best, it doesn't hurt to theorize.

Ohh, you do.
for the first 10 missions you play as Nero, then after that you play as Dante to clean up Nero's mess, so to say..that's why DMC4 wasn't my favorite, it had terrible backtracking. Then at like Mission 19 they set you back to Nero again. :l
Although playing as Dante was pretty damn awesome.

if your comp can run it (which is a yes)

Consoles are restricted to 30FPS. so on a pretty good gaming PC, it can go 60FPS and above, also you can mod Dante and Nero to look however you want.
so yes.
yes you can, also as long as you put in a controller then you should be great. :3 playing with keyboard and mouse is a pain.

I couldn't agree more. Players are so quick to judge whenever a game comes out with a new protagonist, even more quicker to judge when their favorite video game series will get a reboot. I for one, actually enjoyed DmC alot, maybe more then the older DMCs but that doesn't mean I'm "betraying" the Devil May Cry series like I've seen other trolls talk about. New Dante is still real young in this game, and he will develope. Trust me on this one, because this won't be the last DmC. In addition, Remember how fans reacted to Nero when he was announced new protagonist? I remember people hating on that too but loved him in the end. Give New Dante a chance before getting your panties in a twist.

DMC shouldn't have been given to Europe. "Western" means America!

I'm enjoying the game, that being said the other 3 I could barely put down, this one I've had for weeks and weeks and I'm slowly playing it every now and then.

Their fun for sure, but the first 4 are the corniest damned games I've ever played, the new ones a lot more serious. Still has the over-the-top action, just not as silly about it, think it's more about personal tastes.

Well I grew up with it. Apparently the euro people of funnyjunk can't respect that. I don't really care who made it, but the game just isn't as fun as I thought it would be.

As far as reinvisioning it goes it could have been a hell of a lot cooler. Especially with the misleading trailers. I thought Dante had been captured by humans and used to hunt demons, but the story is very V for Vendetta.

Well, hm. That almost sounds sarcastic, but thanks anyway.

At any rate I'm not trying to bash Europe, what I meant was that the culture references and influences obviously have an impact on the final product that is DMC. I think some of it is great, and some of it less great.

No sarcasm intended.

I haven't really played that much of the new DMC, but I've already accepted the new Dante.

This new series is, in my opinion, still better than what could have happened to DMC.
Capcom keeping the series. Endlessly churning out DMC3 clones, or DLCs out the ass.

Sarcasm: I'm totally not referring to other game series that Capcom owns.

Yeah, me too I guess. I'm just mad because the plot was cut off. Now I may never know if Nero was infused with Vergils blood or whatnot.

lol. Well 3 and 4 were amazing in my opinion. I wouldn't mind some actual plot progression, but it's whatever now.

I've read a theory about Sparda having another lover. Spawning a separate line of descendants.
Basically Nero being Spardas grandchild without being involved with Dante or Vergil.
Also making him 1/4 demon, explaining his weird devil powers.

It's a kind of lacklustre theory, but I like it.

Well that's interesting. I was leaning towards the "VERGIL WILL NEVER DIE" and infected a human kind of theory. But that woulda been cool too.

I mostly pull this theory direction from Nero:

"And on that day... my arm changed. A voice echoed... power... give me more... power."

It kills me that we didn't get a 5. But oh well.

By "that day" he is referring to him going on a mission a few weeks prior to the start of the game.
During that mission he was shot/hit, by a demon, in the right shoulder.

So, maybe that shot activated his 1/4 demon powers. (Grandchild theory)
Or, Vergil gained power from the shot and took over Neros arm. (Vergil never dies theory)

This is getting fun.

Sill though...

This game is dripping with UK

That being said it's "good" but to be honest kind of lame in a lot of respects.

And trust me I defended this reboot and game harder than anyone. As a true fan it's... just too lacking. Especially the cruddy weapons system. Still, I need to finish it.

Boss fights are a hell of a lot of fun though.

I'm plenty American but have lived all over the world, including Europe, so I figure my opinion on these sorts of things has a little weight. I'm mostly referencing some of the culture influences, DMC had lots of grunge, smoking and dubstep. Sure its cool, but eh.

It's a good game, but I still cry a little inside.
