People tend to forget that Leo isn't that great an actor. He's a child star who got lucky (unlike Joseph-Gordon Levitt, who started out as a kid actor, but grew up to be a phenomanal actor and not just a pretty boy)

Yes, when Leo shouts, he's very intense. Yes, he was great in Django Unchained, probably the best he's ever been. Yes, he's appeared in some big movies that were well received (Titanic, Django Unchained, Inception, etc...). But they weren't great because of Leonardo DiCaprio. He was arguably the worst part of Titanic, often ruining clever, well-written dialogue. Inception was a good movie, but let's be honest: you didn't like it because of Cobb, Leo's character. There were only two scenes in the movie where DiCaprio stood out: when he's arguing with Joseph-Gordon Levitt's character (again, he was shouting) and in the last scene, where he gave one of the best 'what the *********** ever.

He's a child actor that got popular because of his good looks. And he's surviving now because he's popular. If he keeps giving performances like he did in Django, he might get nominated one day, but I wouldn't count on it.

By your logic, all child actors (chosen for their looks) should be very acclaimed A-list actors now. I think that he deserves even MORE respect for the fact that he was just another teen heart throb and he didn't fade out of existence (Frankie Muniz, Hillary Duff, Shia LaBeaof, the list goes on). Oh, and as for Joseph Gordon Levitt, I would hardly say he's phenomanal actor, I would say most people like him because of his boyish looks. I still haven't forgiven him for that ****** GI Joe movie, or for being in TDKR (which led to a bunch of fangirls and boys wetting themselves over the insane idea he would be starring in the net Robin movie, or even that he would be Robin). When JGL get's nominated like Leo has a few times, I'll eat my words.

I disagree, he performed fantastically in a number of other films, for example: The Beach, The Departed, Catch Me If You Can, Gangs of New York and Revolutionary Road, just to know the ones I can think of off the top of my head.

Although I agree with you, he has been nominated 3 times, he just hasn't one any.
(What's Eating Gilbert Grape, The Aviator, Blood Diamond)

Romeo and juliet from the 90's seems to have pinpointed his perfect acting style (watch it, you'll understand) and also proves he's not always that lucky when it comes to being cast for roles.
