dumbass quote the ******* author not the actor...

You're correct in saying the author deserves credit for the quote, but you need the right actor to deliver it correctly

I wanna say "Quote the character", but since the character doesn't exist, the author would be the one to quote.

Yeah, but I would rather not look at George R. R. Martin. I kinda want to punch him in the face for killing off so many characters.

'Next time someone asks me when the next book is coming out i'll kill another Stark" - George R.R. Martin

lmao, it's true though. Not many are left. I wouldn't be surprised if the series ended with a completely different main cast than when it started.

ITT: Tyrion quotes
#28 to #2 - spanishcasanova (02/27/2013) [-]
Tyrion: "If Stannis breaches the gates, the game is over."
Varys: "They say he burns his enemies alive to honor the lord of light."
Tyrion: "The Lord of Light wants his enemies burnt, the Drown God wants them drowned. Why are all the gods such vicious cunts? Wheres the god of Tits and Wine?"

User avatar #26 to #2 - nazigerm (02/27/2013) [-]
"Death is so terribly final, where life is full of possibilities."

“How would you like to die, Tyrion son of Tywin?”

“In my own bed, at the age of 80 with a bellyful of wine and a girl’s mouth around my cock.”
User avatar #3 to #2 - huffe ONLINE (02/26/2013) [-]
Tyrion: And how do a bear's balls taste?
Yoren: A bit chewy. What about you, milord. What's the strangest thing you've eaten?
Tyrion: Do Dornish girls count?
User avatar #6 to #3 - retardedboss (02/26/2013) [-]
Without too many spoilers (I'm halfway through feast for crows) I thought yoren was dead, so unless this conversation took place before he died and I just don't remember, then yoren comes back?
User avatar #40 to #6 - huffe ONLINE (02/27/2013) [-]
oh yeah, Yoren is definately dead, unless by some miracle the others come as far south as kings landing, but if i remember correctly, he was burned. the quote is from the series yes.
User avatar #8 to #6 - roflsaucer (02/26/2013) [-]
I'd wager it's from the TV Show. The show ***** on the book and adds so much unnecessary stuff it's not unlikely they added this in too.

I'm pretty sure Yoren is dead too, but I think when Arya confirmed the body she said something along the lines of "..and a burned body that could only be Yoren...", so it isn't like he's DEFINITELY dead, just very likely.
User avatar #16 to #8 - retardedboss (02/27/2013) [-]
I wouldn't say the show ***** on the books. Martin is actively involved in the show if i'm not mistaken.

anyway I love the show, even if there are discrepancies. I love the walking dead too, and god knows that strays far from the comic.
User avatar #18 to #16 - roflsaucer (02/27/2013) [-]
Well, I personally don't like the show at all. Everything they add or take away is just so.... unnecessary. Some things need to be changed since it's in first person, obviously, but it just irritates me how much they change it. So much so that whenever I watch it I can't even connect it to the book for the most part because of how much it strays.

For instance, when Danaerys is in the Red Waste, in the book the only person in contact with her that dies is her Lysene handmaid. But in the TV Show, it's her horse, which is still friggen alive up to where I am in the books, which is A Storm of Swords, a bit past halfway in. It's not so much the fact that they're changing it than the fact that their changes don't need to be made.
User avatar #13 to #8 - halfdemon (02/26/2013) [-]
yeah its a quote from the show when they're at the wall and tyrion's sort of chilling and eating with yoren and the asshole drill instructor

This

“My brother has his sword, King Robert has his warhammer and I have my mind...and a mind needs books as a sword needs a whetstone if it is to keep its edge. That's why I read so much Jon Snow."

and

“Never forget who you are, for surely the world won’t. Make it your strength. Then it can never be your weakness. Armor yourself in it, and it will never be used to hurt you.”

I read the frst book, but halfway thrugh the second book I had to put it down because of the sheer amount of nothing.
The book was amazing, yes, but the amount of usless filler between every event hit the point where I could go 20 pages for a walk from a castle to town.
#34 to #17 - whendoubting (02/27/2013) [-]

psst, it's worth the wait
#38 to #17 - troncatman (02/27/2013) [-]
My favorite part about the books is when George is in the middle of a compelling side story, then gets hungry and describes a meal in great detail. Happens like every 25 pages.
#20 to #17 - kelluch (02/27/2013) [-]
I am in the same boat. halfway through the second and I'm just trying to force myself through it. not working as well as I'd like.
User avatar #22 to #20 - zomaru (02/27/2013) [-]
I think I ht the part where Arya as captured or something, then it switches back to her sister and I just said, 'I'm not sitting through another useless chapter.'
I could finish it now If I wanted but my store is always out and some ass hole stole my kindle.
#23 to #22 - kelluch (02/27/2013) [-]
I made it farther than that. I won't spoil anything, but it slowly, ever so slowly, starts to pick up. sorry about your kindle though. people ******* suck
User avatar #24 to #23 - zomaru (02/27/2013) [-]
The entire series has been spoiled by ass holes already.
#25 to #24 - kelluch (02/27/2013) [-]
luckily I've avoided that for the most part. although I've been watching the series, and have passed where I was. I don't have many people around me who read it and could spoil it.
