This was perfect. I never understood why so many people where so devastated when Jobs died. He was just a man promoting a product, nothing more. And even if he was good at it, that doesn't make him a great human being.

Once when I was in Germany I saw a poster of Steve Jobs on the street that said "Der IGott" (The I-God) on it. I was ******* fuming.

Guy was a dick, seriously. Apple made a reality the generic, white-washed, monopolized consumer culture of the future that distopian literature and movies have been talking about for decades, complete with the Führer-esque figurehead. I find Apple's marketing disgusting and I think Steve Jobs was a self-righteous prick.

I'm sure I'll get red-thumbed for defending Jobs, but I feel a lot of people confuse his self-confidence in moving forward with his visions with self-righteousness. The poster you saw I'm sure was a poorly conceived advertisement intended to be somewhat comical, while promoting Jobs as Apple's CEO. He really did have great ideas, though. He also had the ability to implement them - an ability he wouldn't have had if it weren't for his "self-righteousness". Regardless of how you feel about him, he did change the field of technology today - most people would argue for the better.

I posted this in my Facebook status, just so you know. I'm not sure if I completely agree with it, but I hope it pisses off all my friends using Macs.

Thank you.

In the sad modern world, it doesn't matter who makes something, what really matters is who can make profit with it.
For example, the 12th October 2011, Dennis Ritchie (the creator of C and one of the creators of UNIX). Whenever I told someone that "one of the most brilliant computer scientists had died", 90% of the people thought about Steve Jobs. It made me angry that the world respected more the businessman than the genius.

RIP, Dennis.

Apple charges 500 dollars, just to have 32Gbs of RAM in a computer

something you can get for around 180

I have nothing against Jobs, and it's a shame he passed. But I will say, that I really don't like Apple products; specifically macs. My graphic design course my last year of high school had the class use macs, so I assumed the teacher was an apple fan (very nice teacher either way) She actually made us write a small essay on how Jobs affected our lives after he passed; She said that in some way, he DID, without a doubt, affect our lives, or maybe it was less vague and something like "made your lives better." Even though his affiliation with Pixar was very small, I wrote a bout that just to get the points. Meh.

Ew, your teacher sounds like a dickhead.
