Inceptions ending isn't a dream
Why do idiots keep thinking his Totem is the spinning top
His is his wedding ring, he wears it in dreams, he doesn't at the end.
Not a dream.

It makes no sense.
You're supposed have your totem on you at all times, even when not dreaming. If he doesnt have it at the end, it means that he is in someone else's dream.

He has it with him, just like everyone does, but he's wearing it in dreams
Just like his wife would have the totem, and it doesn't fall over in dreams

he did have it with him, and was aboutto double-check if he's really not dreaming again. but then he turns away, which symbolises that he left all this **** behind him now and is simply happy to see his kids again

How about it's a purposely unclarified ending?

But it's clarified. It's not like the totems are secrets

The spinning top is not his totem in Inception. That was Mal's totem. His totem was actually his wedding ring; when he is dreaming, the ring appears on his finger. When he's awake, it's gone. That's because in his dreams, he and Mal are still married. So in the last scene when he spins the top and everyone is watching it, they don't see that his finger lacks a ring on it. He is awake in reality at the end of the movie.

tl;dr? Oh well. Just, thumb me down for writing a stupid comment or something.

I wholeheartedly agree with you, but I also think it doesn't MATTER whether he's dreaming or not. What matters is that he is finally able to move on.

I have a hard time believing it was the ring. If they were really married what were the chances she never touched his ring.

But it's explicitly shown that the spinning top was her's.

Well if it's not his, then it's not his totem! And that's the entire point! He's grasping onto "reality" using an unreliable method, so of course he's never gonn aknow if he's dreaming.
Maybe that's why, maybe he dosn't want to know if he's dreaming.
