The episode where he has a birthday party for himself and makes a card for himself and everything was very sad.

This man made us laugh when he was silent. And he made us cry when he spoke.

The ending to The Great Dictator, a very good Chaplin film made during the rising of world war II. Chaplin was the first person to ever give a comical approach to Hitler. He was a man who was world famous for making silent films, but in his very first ever speaking role, he delivered one of the most inspirational and true speeches of all time. Most of the things he says in this are still true to this day.

this is another one of those "don't believe what you hear on the the internet"

Because i searched the quote, and it was apparently said by Charlie Chaplin.

I know, I wish I had a good meme of it, or something with larger text.

I was watching Downton Abbey - more brilliant brit television - and they had a part about this one gay character who had to hide it. At a really dramatic moment, I couldn't stop myself from saying "I am the only gay in the village." My mom looked at me like a monster but my brother watches Little Britain so it was worth it.

I like this one better though maybe it isn't really the same type of sad.

"The last man on Earth sat alone in a room. There was a knock on the door. "

It's rather scary and depressive perhaps, which is a part of sadness so yeah I'm sticking with this one
User avatar #26 to #25 - highhopes (02/21/2013) [-]
I don't get why that one's scary... WHY??
User avatar #28 to #26 - bluedwarf (02/21/2013) [-]
It goes under the name the shortest horror story. Maybe it was the way it was presented by me that is lost its appeal.
The point is to put yourself into that man's shoes, you are alone, never again will you feel the joy of other humans, question yourself what happened that caused it, what is going to happen now, and if everyone is gone WHO THE **** IS KNOCKING ON THE DAMN DOOR!

User avatar #77 to #47 - bluedwarf (02/21/2013) [-]
What makes you think that? Cause it goes on the internet as "shortest horror story" I don't see how one could go with schizophreniac?

User avatar #44 to #28 - snaresinger (02/21/2013) [-]
That's not the point of that at all. It's already been stated that he's the last man on Earth. The question is not WHO is knocking, but WHAT. It's a metaphor.
User avatar #75 to #44 - bluedwarf (02/21/2013) [-]
Point given. Haven't really considered when does something cease to be a who and starts being a what. It does add to the effect of mystery though.
