By the way, i didn't make this to point out that prayer is useless. When a non-religious person wishes someone "good luck!" it's basically the same as prayer.

This is pissing me off so much, because it's exactly like those "Like this picture if it makes you sad that poor kids die or starvation all over the world" on facebook.

People go to this website, that is devoted to feed, cloth and educate people in poor countries, and they offer this pray button that does absolutely nothing. If you use that feature, NO ONE will get anything to eat. And i actually know people who think praying is an efficient way to get something done. Those kind of people will use that feature, pat themselves on the back and feel like they did something good. Probably even be an arrogant asshole about it.

That is what annoys me so much. Pray if you want to, but don't act like it actually does something. If you want to actually help people, DO SOMETHING.

Like i said, this button is basically the same as a "Like if you hate dying Children" Post on Facebook.

Well, such a button might make a person think to pray that wouldn't have prayed otherwise, so under the assumption that prayer is not inherently useless, the button would still have some purpose then. Or the next time my mom says "say a prayer for us" in regards to some dilemma of hers, should I just call her a useless bitch and inform her that asking for a prayer doesn't mean ****?

Since you can't always convey tone over the internet, I want to point out I"m writing this in a much better-natured humorous tone than it sounds.

Nah, but your mums sole purpose isn't to feed the poor, as it is with that site. That site has 1 purpose, raising money to help people get something to eat or clothes to wear.

Like i said, if your mum, or anyone else for that matter, thinks that a prayer will work, or even just gets their own motivation from it, I'm perfectly fine with it, but in the case of that site, it fails to do anything. Except of course give people the false impression that they actually did something, while poor people still continue to starve.

That was the only point that made me so mad... but i admit, i kinda got myself worked up a little too much, because it reminded me of like-whoring on Facebook, so i kinda projected some of that hate into this.

I like that there are a section about prayer, because we know that prayers are very rich in calories.
