*marine

(as a soldier, I know how up in a bunch their camo panties can get when you call marines "soldiers")
#51 to #27 - Womens Study Major (02/21/2013) [-]
Why is it that it seems to matter so much? Technically they are still soldiers. Probably should know this by now, but hey.

(3 years Air Force)

its because we work harder than the other branches to earn our title. Soldiers dont deserve to be called marines because they didnt earn it. we dont like being called soldiers because were better than that. we worked too hard to not being recognized by how hard we it is to be a marine.

Well wait a minute right meow......

For some reason, I laughed way to hard at your comment.

Well than why is it that the other branches seem to dismiss this issue a lot easier? Every branch works hard, though you are correct, marines are a ******* force of nature, and work to get there.
#63 to #60 - BenDouver (02/21/2013) [-]
yes, we all work hard. and were all brothers in arms, but ive talked to a person from every branch of the military and some things they complain about is a cake walk for marines. Air force gets paid extra money for sleeping in buildings that arent up to their standards, while we would be stoked to have a tent.

Airmanfag here
I'd never **** with a marine. They're the ones who are really in the **** . They go through way harder stuff physically.
At the same time, though, don't dismiss what we do. Fixing an A-10 like I do is more intellectually challenging, and I guarantee you'd pray for that plane in the **** .
Saying any branch has it worse than any other branch is just stupid and egocentric (unless you're talking about the Coast Guard. ******* Puddle Pirates.). You have to be more up to it physically. Which, **** , I wouldn't do the **** you guys do. But not even being 20 yet and having to work on the most complicated parts (avionics) of three million dollar flying machines of death? That's a different ballgame.
Unless they're like services or personnel or something. Yeah they don't do **** .

WOAH WOAH WOAH, RESCUE SWIMMER HERE. HOMELAND SECURITY AND RECOVERING YOUR ASS WHEN IT GETS BLOWN OUT OF THE SKY THERE, GOOSE. DON'T HIT THE CABIN WHEN YOU EJECT. SEMPER PARATUS PILGRIM...Out of the 39,000 men and women that make up the United States Coast Guard there are only 280 rescue swimmers. This is because we are the Coast Guard's elite. We are the best of the best. When storms shut down entire ports, we go out. When hurricanes ground the United States Navy, we go out. And when the holy Lord himself reaches down from heaven and destroys his good work with winds that rip houses off the ground, We. Go. Out. BUT SERIOUSLY, I LOVE ALL OUR BRANCHES, STAY SAFE AND GET BACK HOME TO YOUR FAMILIES ASAP

Well you guys are real **** , yeah. And **** no, I wouldn't go out in the worst weather possible and try to rescue someone. You're basically the Special Ops of the Coast Guard, and all SpecOps is badass. So props to you.
I was talking about the ones that just go out on boats in fair weather to yell at people on jetskis.

User avatar #93 to #92 - deadrifler (02/21/2013) [-]
Oh I was never arguing that point. lol

I have had several friends that have enlisted in non-Marine branches.

Two are Para-rescue and another is Green Beret, so they aren't exactly slouches either. One of the Para-rescue guys had considered swimmer but changed for some odd reason. Have to ask him about that sometime...
User avatar #129 to #93 - fadetometallica (02/21/2013) [-]
Pararescue is harder to get into than even the SEALS. Those ******* are crazy.
User avatar #130 to #129 - deadrifler (02/21/2013) [-]
Yeah, they their entire high school and first two years out training for it.
User avatar #131 to #130 - deadrifler (02/21/2013) [-]
^They spent their, this what comes from typing a response when you first wake up.
User avatar #64 to #63 - akayer (02/21/2013) [-]
That much is true, yes.
Hopefully I'll come to know this advice by heart, wouldn't want to be ****** over by an angry marine.
Looking forward to seeing my brother deployed along with me.
(currently using his account)

Navy = transportation
Soldiers = not ******* Marines

This is some of the Marine philosophy I've heard. Am I correct?
User avatar #94 to #52 - deadrifler (02/21/2013) [-]
