As far as I know everyone was religious then, because they would get executed otherwise...so regardless if he was religious or not, his was forced by society to state that he was. Just my opinion.

Because others can totally decide about his religion.

more than that, he was handed over to the Inquisition.

The Vatican is probably the highest place around. It's normal to be stricken by lightning. It must've happened tons of times before.

Just because the tip of the vatican is taller than the rest of the buildings does not mean that the clouds magically decide it has the easiest path to Earth all the time.

Not only did lightning hit the Vatican and a meteor fall in Russia, but Funnyjunk uses it to start yet another childish religious argument in the comments.

This is undeniable proof that OP is a faggot

The Vatican is the highest point within several miles. Should there ever be lightning weather, it will surely hit that spot. It's not the first time it happened, I'm sure.

What if God exists and he created Science?
User avatar #11 to #10 - skidbladnir (02/16/2013) [-]
what if he doesn´t and science created humans who believe in god?
#22 to #10 - poljento (02/16/2013) [-]
This **** doesn't even make any sense. Science is a way (a tool) to understand the world and it's phenomena. One can't "create" it.
#33 to #22 - anon (02/16/2013) [-]
Ok, ok... how about, this, stay with me here, he created the world AND, AND he decided how it works. Doesn't that just blow your mind?
User avatar #159 to #10 - dapianoman (02/16/2013) [-]
If God exists in the Christian sense then He did create science. He created everything. That's kinda why He's God.
#16 to #10 - redsoxnbolts (02/16/2013) [-]
And he made science disprove his existence so he could remain undetected.
User avatar #42 to #16 - mrbuu ONLINE (02/16/2013) [-]
To be honest it doesn't disprove anything it just helps us understand the world and give us options.

Yeah I know, it was just a joke.

I hate when people just say that science and religion are opposites. They're not. Religion and not religion are opposites. A religion can be founded on science, and science by its very nature can be used as a tool of religion.
User avatar #153 to #117 - gokuismyhero (02/16/2013) [-]
religion is a way of explaining how everything works before we knew what really happened. people used to believe the sun was a guy on a flaming chariot, but that isnt true now is it?
#169 to #153 - anon (02/17/2013) [-]
No it's not. Galileo didn't think so either. And do you want to know something weird? He was a Christian. Crazy I know, that for some religion is more than just an explanation for the unknown.
#30 - fauxshores ONLINE (02/16/2013) [-]
I think the lightning strike after the pope retired is only proof that he will become the new Sith Lord in Star Wars.

> Galileo was Christian
> The man who proposed the Big Bang theory was Christian
> Some of the greatest historical thinkers/scientists were theists

Please people, don't hate on something just because popular belief is that it juxtaposes something else. Religion does NOT in fact juxtapose science. People just think it does. Sorry for the rant but I'm getting so darn tired of all this.
User avatar #179 to #173 - snaresinger (02/17/2013) [-]
Good point, but don't use the word "juxtapose" like that, because that's not what it means. I think what you meant to say was "they're not mutually exclusive."
User avatar #177 to #173 - thexxtalonxx (02/17/2013) [-]
Too bad you didn't sign in to say that, it's true though, many prolific scientists were religious... Albert Einstein, Galileo, and Luis Pasteur. 3 of the greatest minds in history that have given us modern science believed in God.
#191 to #177 - anon (02/17/2013) [-]
Thanks, it's refreshing to see someone who recognizes that there are in fact smart theists out there. The reason I didn't sign in is because the majority of the time that a religious debates like this occurs a lot of drama ensues, so I tend to prefer to not get people spamming my profile with hate.
User avatar #195 to #191 - thexxtalonxx (02/17/2013) [-]
People who hate someone because they are religious are no better than the people they REALLY hate... the WBC.
