it's a very complicated feel unless you've ever aimed down the sights, both you and the guy would rather be at home on your couch with a cup of coffee and you both know it about the other one, but you kinda have to kill each other anyway, war's a bitch

I can try:
The flashbacks represent how they never chose to be soldiers, how they were once kids with dreams and hopes. They were just kids playing around merrily in a beautiful place. And yet, one day someone came and forced them to fight and go through hell for something that's not even their problem. And when they try to go back to the moment they were just kids, war takes its toll. Because war is unforgiving, war is violent, war is cruel; war never changes

I think it's quite feely myself. This obviously takes place during a war, and by the looks of things (ie, the ruined houses and the dead look in both of the soldiers' eyes) a pretty horrible one. The female sniper notices a butterfly land on her scope, and that peaceful image brings back happy memories of an innocent time when she was a girl, relaxing under a tree and reading a book. (it's also likely that the war is taking place near where her home was, or at least the same area or country, given that the flowers around the sniper as well as the one she keeps on her scope are the same ones in the flashback, blooming in the fields and in her hat). Anyway, the butterfly flies over to another soldier, who is similarly distracted, though this time, while dreaming of happier days (in his case playing baseball as a boy) he is shot and killed by the female soldier.

In my opinion it's a really tragic tale of innocence lost and youths destroyed by war. It reminds me a lot of All Quiet on the Western Front, as well as the short story The Sniper, in which a IRA sniper unknowingly kills his brother in the Irish Civil War.

All in all, 9/10, would feel again (also, the art is beautiful)

pic unrelated, but cheesy

You know where redheads are even more common? Ireland
You know where just about everything is a pleasant field like that? Ireland
You know what country has people that actually wear those stupid ass hats? Ireland
You know what war had lots of female soldiers? The Irish Civil one
You know what war was fought with WW2 hand-me-downs? The Irish Civil one

That picture is totally from the Irish Civil War. Simple as that.

so now that we know what's common for both scenarios we can also point out what isn't... I doubt there were many Wehrmacht uniforms in the Irish civil war dude! This fckin picture is from fckin WW2 and you were fckin wrong and you need to fckin deal with it, just about the same way the artist dealt with not giving a **** about what kind of stupid ass hats they are wearing and just made them look good, I fckin doubt he/she even remembered there was such a thing as the Irish civil war when drawing that picture... If you still can't deal with it write him/her an e-mail...

Though the girl is using a Scoped Mosin. Either way it's a great picture.

soldiers in wars sometimes during a stressful period (like being tortured in Vietnam), or during a pause in battle (like this appears to be) tend to daydream about a more peaceful time (like childhood). this is more of a slightly comical feel. the girl dreaming about the butterfly produces a peaceful calm sort of feel, while (if this is your first time seeing this) the guy getting shot produces a giggly sad kind of feel (giggly because he died doing the same thing she did)

tl;dr : pretty butterfly makes feels

Close; the guy was in the process of a happy memory as well when it was interrupted by a bullet to the chest after giving away his position to look at the butterfly.

Disagree. The butterfly is symbolism for the way these soldiers lived their lives before they were forced to kill eachother. When you're shooting a soldier, you're shooting somebody who has an entire life outside of the war. (That's why it showed him dying as a civilian and a soldier at the same time.) The butterfly was just a bit of beauty that brought them back to a more simple time.

to me it seems like two different dimensions or something, one thats happening and one that could have been, had people not decided to send other people to kill people for reasons.

Paul sees a bird fly and land on a tree branch, he is a war zone so birds are rare, and he tries to get a better look then he gets shot by a sniper

Frankly I don't see the big deal.

I don't think this is really worthy of all the "feels" going on down in the comments; nothing deep going on here, though there's definitely some creativity.
