Your definition of "money" is flawed.
The American dollar used to be based upon the amount of gold the government had. Now, the government just prints more bills, then takes more away in taxes.

But what is money?
Just pretty ink on pretty paper, and very hard pieces of stamped rocks, nothing more.

No, I believe your definition of money is flawed. You see, the definition of money isn't pretty ink on pretty paper or pieces of rock. The definition of money is something that individuals are willing to accept in exchange for a good or service. There are different ways to decide what money encompasses like M2 and M3 definitions, one of which only includes liquid assets that can be readily used, the other includes investments and such.

Liquid assets being gasoline, for $4.00 a gallon. Which everyone is whining about.
Then there's hydraulic fluid, for tractors and ****, for $10.00 per gallon.
And chain oil, for chainsaws, for $13.00 per gallon.

I digress...
What you have defined, is currency, which is slightly different than money.
All money is currency, but not all currency is money.

a liquid asset isn't literally a liquid...
it's something that can easily be exchanged for cash without much effort, such as raw materials like iron or coal

Well. I mean, what do people expect? We live in a military country. I may not agree with everything we do, but it is what it is. I really don't believe a country could change it's entire infrastructure and not collapse, at least temporarily. Which is why America will continue to be the Military power of the world. And don't get too upset about that, because there always has, and always will be, at least one military power absurdly powerful, throwing their strength around. Once people learn to accept that, things really don't look so bad.

I think it's pretty hypocritical of Europe to throw around accusations like this. When America defeats a country at war we always give them tons of money to rebuild and they end up better off. When European countries win a war they make the loser pay for the entire war, bankrupt them and usually take their land.

When we toppled Saddam's dictatorship we gave them billions to rebuild and secure their country. When we defeated Japan they were committing mass-suicide for fear of retribution for their heinous war crimes, instead we repaired the damage of the war and built them into the 3rd largest economy in the world. Then we have to take **** from France. The last war the French won was World War 1, in which they made Germany pay out the ass, destroyed their economy, and humiliated them so bad they caused Hitler to rise to power and cause WW2.

the difference is that the USA invaded iraq, whereas Germany invaded france. but that is beside the point; why did you interpret this post as an accusation by Europeans? i understood it as a post from someone within usa who is aware of how your government works and also that the difference between the two major political parties isnt really that great

Well the people saying these things are almost always Europeans or self-hating Americans. It's a lot easier to make a counter argument against the European side than delve into the ******** that is the American self-hatred complex. You really can't make a historical argument against that.
