the laser-activated lights look like a great idea.

"honey, have you seen the remote for the lights?"

"no, it's too ******* dark."

because light switches are too inconvenient?
#17 to #9 - anon (02/14/2013) [-]
I'm guessing that there would be both switches and the option to turn it off with a laser.
#10 to #9 - flarenight (02/14/2013) [-]
yep. having to walk to the side of a room to turn the light on/off is inconvenient.

a lazer light thing is about as stupid as lights that only turn on as long as youre dethgrowling

User avatar #33 to #27 - jjamesgordon (02/14/2013) [-]
No. Cold pillows, cold sheets. Put a ******* block of ice in my bed, I'll be happy.

Cept for the whole being wet thing. I don't like moisture.

Maybe a fireplace?
User avatar #53 to #52 - kyoutu (02/14/2013) [-]
Yes because every fireplace ever created heats to the exact same temperature.
You're a genius.

Here, lemme fix my sentence for you so that you'll understand the obvious point
"This glass fireplace, the one shown in the picture, creates a mystical look, and is 20% warmer then an average fireplace."
User avatar #56 to #54 - kyoutu (02/14/2013) [-]
How warm is the average fireplace?
#59 to #56 - anon (02/14/2013) [-]
20% colder than that glass fireplace, duuh?
#121 to #59 - anon (02/14/2013) [-]
it's 16.67%

User avatar #58 to #57 - kyoutu (02/14/2013) [-]
Surely you must know how warm the average fireplace is to know that this what he is talking about by saying 20% warmer?

Or were you lying?
User avatar #61 to #58 - coolioplasm ONLINE (02/14/2013) [-]
Or it was just that obvious
User avatar #119 to #61 - isomeras (02/14/2013) [-]
It's basic marketing. They'll advertise an item as being x% y of generalised object z, but won't actually tell you WHAT in that generalisation it actually is. It could only be x% y of the WORST in group z but they don't tell you that because that doesn't sell.

tl;dr, most people automatically assume, because of advertising, that it's better than the previous best.

but if I needed a light to turn on a ceiling panel why do I even have the panels if I already have a light and what if I don't have a light to turn them on with, can I still turn them on?
User avatar #87 to #49 - ghettograndpa (02/14/2013) [-]
why would you ever run out of light to put the lights on?

My friend made a wireless phone charger that you point at the sun, and it charges it. He keeps getting denied production. Only because it will take profit from other chargers n **** . American greed
#71 to #32 - comradewinter (02/14/2013) [-]
Well, it has been made a long time ago. It just doesn't sell as much because you'd have to carry it outdoors with your back end up.
User avatar #63 to #32 - indigobob (02/14/2013) [-]
actually it's because it is already done as a student project in Serbia. In fact, there's a large solar charger in the city on which you can plug your mobile and charge it for free. That could be the reason they're denying him, but American greed works too
User avatar #132 to #63 - comeatmebrother (02/14/2013) [-]

"20% warmer"

Lol. Would love to see this interpreted using real numbers (i.e. Y degrees as opposed to X degrees). I doubt it's accurate.

In b4 someone stupidly suggests something like "120 degrees Fahrenheit is 20% warmer than 100 degrees Fahrenheit"
#127 to #126 - anon (02/14/2013) [-]
It was a MLP reference. Chill out.
#130 to #127 - fuckyosixtyminutes (02/14/2013) [-]
I know that's the joke people are making in the comments, but I doubt that's what the picture means. It's a stupid joke, if so.
