Everything is animal labor. We are animals, everything ever touched by humans can't be used by vegans now. Good.

If we just stopped milking cows, their utters would become painfully over-filled, and then they would be in awful pain. Instead, we can continue milking the, and they'll be just fine. Butter takes more human effort to produce than animal. Bees make honey, yes, and we take this honey, yes, and look at this, the bees aren't really affected. They are still alive, and still look to be bees and still act like bees. But whatever vegans, do what you want. As long as you aren't killing people or holding big messy protests, I don't care. Sorry for somewhat expressing an opinion everyone, I just had to get it off my chest.

Why the hell do vegans think people FORCE bees and cows to produce Milk and Honey?

They're not going to stop if we leave them

They did it anyway
#106 to #103 - anon (02/13/2013) [-]
Huge companies with money actually have machines that FORCE the milk out of cows, they can get certain infections on their udders that make it really painful. I have nothing against milk, i love that **** , but its the amount of cows being forced to make milk at a higher rate that naturally that is wrong.
User avatar #107 to #106 - rbpwn (02/13/2013) [-]
They'll still lactate either way

And yeah, there are cows that spend their lives like that

But most don't

Most of them are on Privately owned Dairy farms and cared for by hand

Any vegan I've ever met has their own compost heap and **** and grow their own vegetables or only buy from local markets. They are usually hipsters.
The verbal part is the worst yeah, but I have never personally met a vegan who wasn't like that with everything they do even before becoming vegan.
#23 to #16 - angelusprimus (02/13/2013) [-]
I grow my own vegetables.
I also eat meat, a lot of meat... mmm... meat...
But I also like tomatoes that taste like tomatoes not water, garlic that actually spices my food and onions that i don't have to use five to add taste to the stew.
I grew up in the country, stuff they sell in most local stores sucks...

I have one friend thats a vegetarian, and at times I would forget he was and ask him if he wants a hotdog or hamburger and he always had a good sense of humor about it.
Not all of vegetarians and vegans are douchehats.

I like people who don't eat Veil or Lamb and say;
"It's a baby animal dude!"

Oh right, it didn't get to experience the exciting life of a cow or sheep.

It eats to be eaten.

That is the purpose of a cow.

Well, in a natural scenario the cow would stop lactating after it's baby is weaned. I know some vegans that drink milk if the animal is kept in a more humane situation than with commercial farms. I guess it depends on the person.
#96 to #58 - sapphos (02/13/2013) [-]
I worked on a farm for a few months. 24 hours after the calf is born, it's taken away from the mother so we can drink the milk. The calf is given a portion to keep it healthy, but the baby is quite distressed as you can imagine, as is the mother for a period of time. If the calf is a male nine times out of ten it will be killed for veal, if it's a female it will be reared.
#72 to #58 - anon (02/13/2013) [-]
than watch a video, because its the living conditions of the cows, most vegans will drink milk from a cow from small farms

Sorry, but don't think that is so. Firstly, they just stop lactating if you stop milking them. Secondly, a calf is taken away from it's mother because it is drinking "our" milk.
User avatar #79 - youarenotspecial (02/13/2013) [-]
I guess I can understand not wanting to use milk, because you could argue that cows weren't meant to lactate forever. Fine. But bees? Bees are going to make honey whether you are morally opposed to eating it or not.
#84 to #79 - tyraxio (02/13/2013) [-]
I'm just explaining this, so please don't thumb me down.

Except from the fact that many bees are killed when the honey and beeswax is extracted, they make the honey for the hive, not for us. It belongs to them, not to us.
User avatar #86 to #84 - youarenotspecial (02/13/2013) [-]
I guess that's true. I haven't researched it any so I'm not going to call someone a big ugly faggot for their stance on it either way. xD
#87 to #86 - tyraxio (02/13/2013) [-]
I'm not telling you what to do either (lol, for once) I'm just trying to stop some of the ignorance around the topic. People have actually been made to believe the way we treat animals are all natural, which is wrong. People can eat whatever the Hell they want, they should just know the facts before making the decision.

MFW vegans drive animals out of their homes so that the land can be farmed.

Even though I'm a vegetarian myself
Vegans and other vegetarians piss me off, and so do some meat eaters
Those people chose to do that job, the animal will do it by nature (If we didn't milk cows, their udders get sore and they can get ill)
But it annoys me that meat eaters are really bitchy to people who don't eat meat
And it annoys me that people don't eat meat talk about nothing else other than being a vegetarian

Human beings evolved the way we did from eating both vegetation and meat.

We are omnivores, We eat BOTH.

Your body needs nutrients that you can only get from meat. And the same goes with plants.

Both of animals and plant are living things. They can both feel, think, eat, breathe, etc.

The only difference is, a plant can't scream and bleed when you rip it from it's roots. Thus people think it's more "Humane" To eat plants.

At least a chicken has a chance to run away.

I believe devoting your entire diet to one single form of life is kinda psychotic.

"Oh, nevermind the cows that are perfectly capable of moving away from the barrel of my gun, this patch of lettuce down here can't move or run. It's perfectly helpless and minding it's own business, just how I like my food!"

Do I like how we treat animals before eating them? No, of course not

Do I think we should stop eating animals in general?

Well... Why don't you ask Mr. Lion in the wilderness before he rips your throat open and eats you.

I imagine when a bee keeper uses that smoke spray thing that it just gets all the bees high...so their life is to reproduce and get high basically.
#13 to #3 - Hightower (02/13/2013) [-]
The smoke doesn't get them high. It disrupts their ability to communicate with each other, and they lose the hive mind for a while.
User avatar #5 to #3 - YllekNayr (02/13/2013) [-]

Woah now. I'm well aware that bees won't be stinging you when they're high on the smoke.

My comment was mostly a joke, as a response to the comment "...so their life is to reproduce and get high basically. "

User avatar #10 to #7 - YllekNayr (02/13/2013) [-]
Of course not. Just saying that a bee's life is more than reproducing and getting high, especially since the workers are all female, and only the few males close to the queen actually mate with her.

The wasps push the bees into the lower social class. They do not have the funds nor means to get the attention they can get. They rely on getting high to help forget as much as we do to get honey
User avatar #4 to #3 - usernamesaredumb (02/13/2013) [-]
Good point.
