loo tons = 101000 kg = 220, lbs
An average person can hit 40%
An average person weighs % ifthat is
100, 000/ 32 = 3125, meaning superman can lift 3125 times
the average man
Now. Radio: scanned a human and his
power level was 5'?
Well, Superman' s PL is 3125x5. which is 15625
Gem. when training with Kai. reached using

The average person can lift 40% of his weight

Well that's my confidence booster for the day knowing I've just hit two plates on bench ^.^

Sorry just proud I'll stop being annoying

225 is a descent amount for being non-athletic though

It most certainly is.

superman can pull a planet, he doesn't max out at 100 tons. baseline numbers are flawed.

Thank you. Pulling a planet single-handedly. This conversation was over when the fight was introduced.

Well, there's also:
Goku can lift much, much more...
But superman is faster than a speeding bullet.
Able to leap a building in a single bound.
X-ray vision.
Can turn back time by spinning the earth backwards.
And I haven't even read/watched any superman related material and I know this, so superman fanatics could probably bring more to the table.

superman was, in my opinion, created to exemplify how strong america was. And as he progressed was changed so much in the comics that he basically became god. His powers are basically made up as he goes, as the video states. I like superman as a part of the DC universe, because he is balanced out by other heros and villains, yet in a one on one fight he is extremely over powered. No matter what the odds superman can make his strength whatever he requires? that's just ridiculous.

No, they did everything right. in the fight, it showed what would happen if both didnt go balls to the wall from the start. if they did, Superman would ((much to my dismay)) slam Goku with an infinite mass punch before he could move. Powerpole doesn't really apply. Although, I agree. Goku is way better. Superman is bland and overpowered.

100 tons? Are you serious?

Though I would prefer Goku be the victor unfortunately Superman would win. If anyone wants to watch them fight and find out the math behind it all here's a link for yas.

i don't know where he is getting the information that superman can only lift a 100 tons, it is different from who is writing him,In New 52 he bench pressed the weight of the Earth for 5 days straight while cut off from the Sun (with little effort). he has also moved planets and On record he can lift 200 quintillion tons with one arm & felt like he could do more. so i don't know what this fool is talking about

User avatar #85 - Compootor (02/13/2013) [-]
What asshole are all these people pulling these "Maximum Lift" numbers out of? The Comics? Because I haven't read any of those, but one guy says It's 100 tons (Which can't be right) And another guy says it's 200 Quintillion tons, and apparently, superman can move planets with his strength, so I'd imagine you'd need more than 100 tons of lifting power for that. But then again, what are the mechanics of "Lifting" Something when you're in space? Pushing a Planet? Isn't that just like doing a handstand and flying into the ground really hard?
User avatar #66 - julpiter (02/13/2013) [-]
to anyone who still thinks goku could win
User avatar #62 - uratan (02/13/2013) [-]
Superman is a god-like being with no limits who bases the powers he uses on the opponent he is currently facing.

Goku is a warrior who's entire life has been about breaking through his own limits to defeat anything that threatens the planet or his loved ones.

When you think about a fight between someone with no limits and one who is constantly breaking their own limits, well only one of those fighters has no limits to begin with.

Superman wins, but I doubt the earth would survive.

Superman wins? Goku can destroy the sun, thus making supermans powers dwindle quite radically
User avatar #119 to #98 - uratan (02/13/2013) [-]
If goku destroyed the sun the blast would destroy the earth, killing him. Still can't breath in space.
#120 to #119 - noobiereaper (02/13/2013) [-]
Why would Guko die from that? The destructive force would take atleast 8 minutes to reach earth in the first place, and if the earth would be destroyed, he can teleport to another system / to the kayious or whatever.
User avatar #123 to #120 - uratan (02/14/2013) [-]
So you're saying Goku would be perfectly fine with the knowledge he just killed everyone on the earth? Not to mention Superman could have simply flew to another sun, his speed was told to be a maximum of 17,000,000,000 km/h. Now since the speed of light is 1,079,252,850 km/h, that means that superman flies at maximum over 16x the speed of light. He could get to the next star in about 3 months time.

Of course that is implying that Goku could even destroy the sun. Destroying a planet is one thing. To destroy a sun you'd basically need to cause the supernova, which would take around 10 Octillion Megatons of force. (1 with 28 zeroes behind it). The lovely people at screwattack did the math for me, and found that Goku's Maximum destructive output is around 34.7 Sextillion Megatons. (just put 21 zeroes behind the seven and get rid of the decimal). In short, he would completely drain himself of power to almost destroy the sun. All the while superman could just sit inside the sun itself to power up to an infinite level of power.
#126 to #123 - noobiereaper (02/14/2013) [-]
I lost it at "megatons of force" lol xD No point in continuing this. Either do this with science or with extrapolating known things from the books, dont try and mix them >.<

Superman draws his power from the sun, Goku draws his power from desperation. So it has differing results.
User avatar #33 - metalguitarest (02/13/2013) [-]
Then he would lose against the Silver Age Superman seeing as that son of a bitch could move planets and Earth weighs approx. 6.6 sextillion tons

They are both fictional characters who come from different series and therefore a fight between them would be impossible.

Superman is stronger than the Hulk. Superman with one arm lifted 200 Quintillion Tons. Now Hulk on the other hand, has held the tectonic plates of Sakaar together. However, the forces involved is only in the order of a trillion tons, or less depending greatly on the size of the planet. Now, this poses a problem as 1 quintillion tons is a million times greater than 1 trillion tons, meaning Superman is lifting 200 million times more weight with his one arm.
#18 - anon (02/13/2013) [-]
It really depends on which Superman it's talking about, doesn't it? There have to be at least 100 different official storylines that he's included in by now. In some, he's comically over powered or even literally becomes a god. In others, he's still insanely strong, but not without rivals that are close enough in power to give him a run for his money. I'd say if you're doing manga Goku v.s. the various comic book Supermen, Superman would win most of the time. If you're doing anime Goku v.s. cartoon Supermen, Goku would win most of the time. If you're just doing it overall, then Superman wins, but he sort of has an unfair advantage.
