I wasn't alive back then but I feel like warfare lost all honor with the invention of fun powder. A coward can kill someone from one hundred yards away. It takes a man to end ones life up close with a steel blade.

There's no honor in warfare today because if you cause a war you have zero honor and will die for it.

Speaking of jokes, have you seen the republican party lately?!
(See? Its just a JOKE)

No **** you laughed, the blue "America" states are the ones that voted for your side.
User avatar #196 to #192 - tjflash (02/12/2013) [-]
I have nothing against real Republicans. I love a True Republicans Ideals.

BUT I hate these ******** asshats that filibuster every law and refuse to let America progress because their butthurt and wanted Mitt, and have no idea how to run a country.
User avatar #203 to #196 - Ruspanic (02/12/2013) [-]
What's a "real Republican"? Is that anything like a "real American"? You don't also use the term "RINO" do you?
And it's reasonable to be frustrated with politicians. But what's wrong with wanting Mitt Romney for President? You didn't expect Republicans to vote for Obama, did you?
User avatar #209 to #203 - tjflash (02/12/2013) [-]
A real Republican. Like Abraham Lincoln or Ron Paul. ( too lazy to think of more off the top of my head) And no, they are free to vote for whom they please. If Mitt Romney was president I would accept the change and hope he moves America forward. But he Isn't so we need to continue wwith what Obama set out to try. Its the fact that these "Repblicans" have literally tried to pass a law, and when Obama approved it, they denied it ONLY because Obama liked it. Now tell me, is that how you want to run a country?
User avatar #216 to #209 - Ruspanic (02/12/2013) [-]
Neither of those people are anywhere near the Republican mainstream. Lincoln was a Republican before the platform switch, so his ideology was quite different from that of the modern Republican party. He'd be a Democrat today.
Paul isn't really Republican at all, he's a libertarian who runs as a Republican.

I don't think Romney is one of those hyper-partisan ******** you're talking about. He was the most moderate candidate in the Republican primary (with the possible exception of Jon Huntsman) and he was definitely not an ideologue. He's not Mitch McConnell or something.

Also, just because Obama is President doesn't mean everyone has to support the policies that he supports. He's a public servant who is supposed to answer to the people, and the people have no obligation to back the political agenda of any elected politician.
User avatar #218 to #216 - tjflash (02/12/2013) [-]
What about Ronald Reagan?
and he's TRYING to answer the people, but the damn Republicans will not let him.

I'm just saying, you can't deny that they are being childish.

also, Michelle Bachman makes me laugh. www.youtube.com/watch?v=XGVaEGgSNV8
User avatar #220 to #218 - Ruspanic (02/12/2013) [-]
Ronald Reagan is definitely closer to modern Republican ideals than Lincoln or Paul, yes.
Yes, I'm also frustrated by partisan obstructionism, and I'm not going to defend it. You're right.
I'm not a Michelle Bachmann fan either. Though I'm not going to pretend she's not a Republican.
User avatar #183 to #168 - archercarac (02/12/2013) [-]
I've seen the Republican party, but they haven't seen anything with all of this blind arguing with the Democrats!

User avatar #194 to #158 - Ruspanic (02/12/2013) [-]
I don't think he's implying it so much as outright saying it. Those are all the states that voted for Romney.
#153 to #147 - Ruspanic (02/11/2013) [-]
I wonder what your political affiliation is.
#182 to #153 - selfdenyingbeggar (02/12/2013) [-]
Implying there's a difference between republicans and democrats (outside social, relatively unimportant matters).
#227 to #182 - anonymous (02/12/2013) [-]
That's fun, so if they're exactly the same in fields that matter, then why would you not vote democrat which is clearly correct with social matters as well?
#229 to #227 - selfdenyingbeggar (02/12/2013) [-]
I was not saying I wouldn't. But know that you mention it wouldn't vote for none, nonetheless.
User avatar #189 to #182 - Ruspanic (02/12/2013) [-]
Well, I suppose you can make that argument about Republican and Democratic politicians, but there are ideological differences between the two parties that go deeper than stances on individual issues.
#202 to #189 - selfdenyingbeggar (02/12/2013) [-]
The politicians are who run the show, though.
User avatar #210 to #202 - Ruspanic (02/12/2013) [-]
I suppose so. But voters vote them in, so ultimately they are held at least somewhat accountable for their actions.
Regardless, ideology is still important in who I vote for, even if politicians can't realistically be expected to fulfill all their promises. I think there's enough difference between Republicans and Democrats for it to matter who wins, though of course it's best to choose between candidates and than their parties.
