The problem isn't that these people are just stupid.

I mean, we all are. We might know more than a lot of other people, but saying that you know more than morons like that do isn't a huge thing to be proud of. You might be smarter than a billion idiots, but it doesn't make you smart.

No, the problem is that ********* like this don't bother to do anything about their ignorance. When confronted or corrected, instead of facing up to their own idiocy they denied it and took offence to people telling them the truth.

They don't want to hear what's smart or true. They hear what they want to hear. So they spout off this dumb **** like what you see in the status up there, or other "poetic" ******** , and think that they're smart or deep. When in reality? They're lying to themselves and believing their own lies. All because the truth is too much to bear.

People aren't born intelligent. We learn. But in order to do that, we have to be willing to learn.

And in the end, we're all morons. Some of us just stand out as morons than others do.
...I guess that does kind of make this idiot unique, in the sense that whoever this is is more retarded than most of our kind.

...I'll stop ranting now.

but dude, those people only deny things for reasons too, i agree with you with some things, like people aren't born one way or another, but everything happens for a REASON, there are reasons why people do things they do and it's up to people to figure out what those reasons are and stop them, people are ignorant or stupid for some reason or another, and just getting angry at them or labeling things we don't understand in a certain way doesn't help anybody, it just allows the people are acknowledge the idiots and then not do anything about it, everything in life is just a giant chain of dominoes and, nothing happens just because. science, truth compassion, love, and sacrifice and understanding ftw, but i guess chastising someone who does make stupid claims is somewhat of a negative reinforcment to help stop that behavior, but as long as you realize it isn't so much to just be mean/make yourself feel better about your own actions, but to help change the world for the better. kind of like justifying war and such, as long as the right reasons are there,

sorry if this was written badly, i suck at writing
#91 to #85 - pankikilord (02/11/2013) [-]
I agree.

If I can, I educate. If someone asks me a dumb question I don't say "LOL UR RETARDED FUK U" and then not answer it.

The issue lies in people who will deny those truths and facts because they don't want to look smart. Which is dumb in and of itself, because it makes them look worse. People just don't want to own up to the fat that they don't know everything, and that is what makes them retarded.
#96 to #91 - anon (02/11/2013) [-]
yeah, stubbornness/denial of the facts, and people refusing to look at their own flaws is definitely frustrating, and people who seem to think they know everything so they don't try to learn or change, but somewhere along the lines if their life they may have learned to act that way, or learned to be lazy in their acknowledgement of themselves, so they don't ever TRY to get better, because it's easier not too. but it the same way people who do have the knowledge still have a duty to try their best to help people, even in another persons ignorance, if anything for sorry for the person who can't acknowledge their own flaws because they won't be living the best life they can, and maybe if you try hard enough people/society will change, it just takes time and effort to get their :)
User avatar #163 to #96 - cabbagemayhem (02/11/2013) [-]
Here on FJ, if they are just a little stupid, someone will inform them. If they are really stupid, they are chastised for everything they did to deserve it, until they tighten their butt-holes enough to finally start learning.
#93 to #91 - pankikilord (02/11/2013) [-]
*the fact that they don't know everything

User avatar #79 to #72 - durkadurka (02/11/2013) [-]
Exactly. They're willfully ignorant, and don't want to educate themselves.

I wouldn't go so far as to say that everyone is a moron. I think as long as the desire to learn is there, lower intelligence is not necessarily a bad thing.

#86 to #76 - pankikilord (02/11/2013) [-]
We're all idiots.

There's no way around it. We can know a lot of information, we can make wise decisions, we can learn as much as we can. But in the end? We're humans. We'll make mistakes and do really stupid **** . Even the smartest or wisest of us will **** up in some way or another.

We all have large gaps in our intelligence. We simply don't know everything. We're pretty much all morons.

But personally,I think what makes people less retarded isn't how MUCH they know, but how willing they are to learn more. And their acceptance of reality around them.

User avatar #118 to #86 - xjiicx (02/11/2013) [-]
So doesn't that just define ignorance?
#126 to #118 - pankikilord (02/11/2013) [-]
Ignorance isn't an issue. Refusing to get rid of it is.

We're all ignorant until we're taught better.
But if we refuse to accept the facts or never try to learn more, we're hopeless.
User avatar #128 to #126 - xjiicx (02/11/2013) [-]
The fact that we have to get rid of it, doesn't that make it an issue? And isn't Ignorance by definition the "Ignorance of facts." or refusing to learn? Don't you mean naive? I don't want to turn this to an argument but I think we have a diffrent understanding of the word ignorance, the way you use it seems to imply nativity, not ignorance.
#134 to #128 - pankikilord (02/11/2013) [-]
Ignorance is the lack of knowledge.
Naivety is the assumption that something is different from what it really is, or that everything is black and white.
That's why it's ignorant to say that gay marriage is wrong while it's naive to say "Men don't get attracted to other me, they get attracted to women. It's just how it works."

It isn't wrong to be ignorant, which is why it's not an issue. We all are. Or at least, we all WERE, at one point. And even then, we still are, because we still don't know everything.
Saying ignorance is wrong is like saying having an appendix that needs to be removed is wrong. It's causing problems, yes, but it isn't wrong.

And ignorance isn't refusing to learn. It's just not HAVING the facts. No, the term for refusing them is "idiocy".

Oh.... I see what you mean now. So how would you catagorize those of higher Understanding(intellegence) than those with less? wwe may all be human, with flaws, but some of us ARE smarter than other's. Regardless of the ability to learn as much, (some ability in learning, but one has learned more than the others( not including the mentaly challenged)) Would you call those specialist?

Got some Harvard MoFo here now don't we? :)
#150 to #140 - pankikilord (02/11/2013) [-]
In a sort of ironic duality, we're also all intelligent in our own way.

We all have a specialty. Mine being debate, I suppose. And even if were not the best in that category of intelligence, we're still better than most in it.

"Intelligence" is hard to define. Especially by societies standards of what it means. For example; there are people with I.Q.s of 30 something who can listen to any song once and play it flawlessly on a guitar. Or people of average intelligence who can perform math equations mentally faster than a calculator can.

There are those with more intelligence, but it only shines through their specific specialty. In any other topic they might be complete retards.

Scientifically speaking, people with more developed brains CAN learn more, but that still doesn't mean they WILL.. So even people who can be smarter or more learned can't be categorized into any sort of "level" of intelligence.

So,on a biological, intellectual and logical level, there's no real way of defining true intelligence, or measuring it. So I don't. Intelligence is so diverse and complex that there's no point in trying to define it or put it into any sort of categorical system. Because even people who would rank "low" in that system could be smarter in an area that most "intelligent" people could never even consider.
