OP, is written on the top of you screenshot that Windows assign values between 1.0 and 7.9

the real question is: why between 1 and 7.9 windows, WHY??
#153 to #7 - tacosmells (02/10/2013) [-]
because if you want something better you go and buy windows 8

#61 to #7 - anon (02/10/2013) [-]
It is an exponential scale. 2.4 is not twice as good as 1.2. It is much much better

Because **** you that's why.

Damn those HDD's and their ****** rating.
User avatar #162 to #13 - masterfluffydubs (02/10/2013) [-]
Same exact specs on mine. And yeah. Should have gone with at least some SSD in retrospect...
User avatar #35 to #13 - benk (02/10/2013) [-]
i have the exact same scores, what cpu/gpu are u running?
User avatar #83 to #35 - huntarrr (02/10/2013) [-]
Intel i7-2600 at 3.4GHz and Radion HD 7870
User avatar #163 to #83 - masterfluffydubs (02/10/2013) [-]
same GPU, i5-ivy bridge something of another. We got the same processing power but you paid more :( no one can utilize the i7 yet
User avatar #167 to #163 - benk (02/11/2013) [-]
I have the same gpu but im running an amd 1055t at 3.95 ghz. Also even though we have the same WEI for cpu speed im pretty sure that huntarrr's i7 would roflstomp both our cpus in a real benchmark like the cpu section of 3dmark or cinebench.

Mine is 5.0
#10 to #8 - turned (02/10/2013) [-]
this is because a normal hard drive (7200rpm) will commonly have a 5.9 if you want to increase it you will need a ssd.
User avatar #16 to #10 - momho (02/10/2013) [-]
Exactly, still retarded that you get a base score because of your HDD, when it doesn't really do that much for your overall prestanda as the other components xD

If you ask me they should go by the average score :P
#15 to #12 - turned (02/10/2013) [-]
if you buy a new graphics card nothing pricey about 70 dollars it will boost to a 5.5
#33 to #15 - bavmann (02/10/2013) [-]

User avatar #46 to #45 - PieManTheGreat (02/10/2013) [-]
60 pounds is about 90 dollars.
User avatar #63 to #46 - benk (02/10/2013) [-]

The scores are ******** . I have a velociraptor 500GB (latest generation, SATA III) and I still get a 5.9. My next lowest is CPU at 7.4, and that's an AMD Phenom II X4 @ 3.8Ghz from ******* 2010.

2010. That's practically ancient history. Yet the latest velociraptor (pretty damn fast for a mechanical HD) only scores at a 5.9? Please.
User avatar #111 to #68 - agentpurplek (02/10/2013) [-]
Those numbers don't really mean anything its not even a good benchmark for comparing...
#77 to #68 - qasdom (02/10/2013) [-]
mechanical hdd's are limited to 5.9. you HAVE to get an ssd if you want to get a higher score.
User avatar #114 to #77 - agentpurplek (02/10/2013) [-]
Raid 0 with 32 bit stripping and some tweacks can reach into the 6.x's
#160 to #114 - qasdom (02/10/2013) [-]
your average schmo doesnt even know what raid is. but like you said, those numbers are near pointless.
User avatar #164 to #160 - agentpurplek (02/10/2013) [-]
Your entire statement is very true. :D glad I'm not a average schmo....

#91 to #89 - peeta (02/10/2013) [-]
your HDD is bring it down. u can get a 7.9 if you have a good SSD.
#99 to #91 - mangoskatertwo (02/10/2013) [-]
Yeah, I've been looking into getting one. I've had a lot of friends have issues with the controllers on them. they get a weird issue where if they continue to use the computer of just leave something running they are fine. but if the system idles it will blue screen. try to reboot and not see the SSD. the only way the can fix it is unplugging the computer and hitting the power button to drain the power and then rebooting. both times it has been a corsair ssd. the company gave them an RMA but after a few weeks 1 of them had the same problems.
#148 to #99 - anon (02/10/2013) [-]
Well first thing is first.... YOU WILL PAY OUT OF THE ASS for a SSD right now. You can always buy two 1000gb harddrives and RAID them. Cheaper, more storage , and will be about twice the speed of a regular hard drive.
#101 to #99 - peeta (02/10/2013) [-]
make sure not to buy the crap ones.

i recommend the newest intel or samsung ones.
#103 to #89 - mrsodasexy (02/10/2013) [-]
Core i7 3770k
16gb 1866MHz RAM Vengeance
sabertooth z77 mobo
1 AMD Radeon 7970
3TB Seagate HDD
128GB Crucial M4 SSD
7.8 rating.
User avatar #79 - zxmongoose (02/10/2013) [-]
I got a 4.7 because of my desktop graphics, but my next lowest is my HDD transfer rate at 5.9, so I don't really buy the score that much. My gaming graphics score is a 6.2 so that's not bad at all
#78 - HolyArachnid (02/10/2013) [-]
