. . . Wow. Could that just be it?

Does anyone else get annoyed that sometimes the background picture has the pokemon related to the fact, and other times it's a completely random one?
User avatar #34 to #29 - Keril (02/09/2013) [-]
I believe the Pokémon shown has the same number as the fact in the National Pokédex.
User avatar #35 to #29 - newerusername (02/09/2013) [-]

pokemon commonly banned or frowned upon in competitive play.
User avatar #24 to #23 - maartenc (02/09/2013) [-]
Why would Blaziken be in there then?
#28 to #24 - twotwelve (02/09/2013) [-]
he has an ability that makes him faster every turn. Combined with already being extremely fast, he can basically hit first every time no matter what late in a game, and he has a wide selection of moves to be super effective against most others.

TL;DR, he hits you with super effectives before you can do ****
User avatar #36 to #28 - maartenc (02/09/2013) [-]
Can't that be countered?

Trick room and **** .
User avatar #51 to #36 - kapane (02/09/2013) [-]
Everything can be countered, but the likeliness of such a thing happen is very low because trick room isnt all that common. Plus thats 1 counter.
User avatar #25 to #24 - gildemoono (02/09/2013) [-]
Because hes really ******* overpowered and awesome.

The highest possible amount of experience points that can be gained in a Single Battle is 457,970. This can be done by defeating a level 100 Blissey in a Trainer battle, using an internationally traded Pokémon at level 1 that is holding a Lucky Egg, with Exp. Point Power ↑↑↑, S or MAX active. This means that given these conditions, a Pokémon could technically advance from level 1 all the way to level 87 in a Single Battle, provided that it was in the Erratic experience group. A Pokémon in the Fast experience group would advance to level 83. -Bulbapedia

Cheers bro. Do you know about #211?
#92 to #70 - Slushysolid (02/10/2013) [-]
A level 100 Shuckle can potentially deal the most damage in one single attack through the use of numerous stat boosters; by using Helping Hand by two different Pokémon in a Triple battle, holding a Metronome, Power Trick, a Skill Swap to Pure Power or Huge Power, 6 Attack boosts, and a Mimiced Me First used on a slower Pokémon using the Defense Curl/Rollout combo. Also, Shuckle's partner must have the ability Flower Gift and the weather must be sunny. On the 5th turn of using Rollout consecutively without any misses, if used against a level 1 Ledyba, Yanma or Combee with minimum Defense stats, that have been hit with negative Defense modifiers (such as Screech), it can deal 481,266,036 damage with a critical hit." -Bulbapedia Bulbapedia is the tits.

Holy **** , that's insane. Cheers man, I didn't know bulbapedia even had this kind of information :L

What is a Uber tier?
User avatar #47 to #15 - Bion ONLINE (02/09/2013) [-]
Pokemon tournaments have different tiers. Uber being at the top, where the most powerful pokemon are (Mew Two, and most other legendaries, and other extremely over powered pokemon like Garchomp)

Over-Used (fairly powerful, but outranked by most legendaries) is the next tier down.
Then borderline (usually pokemon that are very average, but can still hold their own).
Then Under-Used (pokemon that can do okay, but are usually nothing compared to Uber)
Then Never-Used (pokemon that just aren't up to snuff)

So a Tourney that was called an "NU Tourney", would only allow NU pokemon and weaker, for instance.

There are also other tiers, like Unevolved, or 1st evo.

so are the games based off of the show, or is the show based off the games?

Game came first.

more like common knowledge if you're an avid pokemon fan. That would be like saying "hey, did you know we need water to survive?"
User avatar #52 to #50 - kapane (02/09/2013) [-]
i did not know that.

That movie short where Ash throws Pikachu a party always gives me a feel.
Even though that is literally the day of his birthday, he'd rather celebrate the fact he met Pikachu rather than his own 11th birthday
