I feel like this was said less to prove a point and more to just try to rile people up.

I know it's hard to imagine that as he looks all serious in the picture OP used, but he said it during a stand up routine in a more jokey manner than he appears in the picture, so I think it's meant to be funny.

I don't see why you wouldn't want to be a Christian. Its ******* hardcore
The main religious symbol is an ancient torture divice
They have a long history of glorious leaders and brave warriors
The ultimate position a mortal can hold is saint, which is obtained after death and preforming two unexplainable miracles
Catholics have vast libraries of historical secrets locked away in the vatican
And you can blame unholy beings when you **** up

Not necessarily. This is funnyjunk, the only time i can really respect a post is if it's either funny or brings up a valid agrument /counter point to Christianity.
However this uses feigning of ignorance in order to provocatively imply instead of using your method of "consider the following"
It was just presented in a way that was disrespectful without having the "saving grace" of also being humerus.

This post brings up the fact that there are over 2800 gods and to which is believed.
This is a reasonable post and makes perfect sense.
I also would like to understand how this was "disrespectful" when it is a valid point.

Surly you don't really believe that being atheist is a percentage of rejected faiths and that you have to believe a majority of the 2800 in order to not be atheist? That's nothing short of silly.
He argument almost seems to be "Well if you believe in the one god then how come you don't believe in all of them? See, you're really an atheist" which is just mocking and ridiculous. Surly you can see that what religion you are has to do with what you accept, not what you reject.
And the disrespect comes from the presentation. I'm not saying he's disrespecting Christianity or anything, he's disrespecting the people who believe it. Not presenting what he's saying in order to educate, but to belittle.

Ah i see what you mean and your absolutely right and since atheist means "nonbeliever" how can you be atheist if you believe in at least one god.
And i see now, how this can be disrespectful
