for those who don't know why it doesn't name the folder in that name is because "con" in french means idiot.

In MS-DOS, several special "device files" were available to aid in performing certain tasks, such as clearing the screen or deleting extraneous output from a program. In order to maintain backwards-compatibility, all versions of Windows up to and including Windows 7 will refuse to allow you to create a file with these "reserved" device file names...

some of those names are:
CON
PRN
AUX
NUL
COM1
COM2
COM3
COM4
COM5
COM6
COM7
COM8

there is however an unoffical explanation why you can't use CON as a name for a folder or a file. CON supposedly has nothing to do with the system but was a insult bill gates was called by some high school bullies who often tried to bother him.

Windows doesn't allow you to name files 'con'. There are a few other ones you can't do but con is the most well known one.

I don't want my PC to run every single game out there, as long as it can run a few games with Wine and/or PlayOnLinux I'm happy. Also, I'm looking forward to see how "Steam for Linux" will work.

Also, I can use my mum's PC (pirated WinXP) in case I really want to play something.

You know, I have both, I hav a PC Desktop and a Macbook. My PC is ****** awesome, but the one I had before it had a bunch of manufacturing errors. And the Macbook loves to delete or corrupt half of all the **** I save on it. So Macs AND PCs can **** you over! YAY! Im still always gonna be a PC guy though, the layout and system for Apple is ****** ridiculous, it looks like its made for 10 year olds. "Yay the icon is bouncing around and stuff is flashy!"

You know what's counter-intuitive? I thought getting a Linux would be a good idea when I decided to major in programming. But it turns out, Linux is actually a hassle when you're trying to program (surprise surprise. Seriously though). Turns out, windows or even a Mac is quite ideal with programming so that you don't have to worry about all the background stuff for the computer. That way, you can concentrate on doing simple-to-complicated coding. It's really quite strange.

I ended up going back to windows. Talked with other members of the programming community, and they agree. Linux is for people who know computers, but don't need to use that knowledge for anything other than personal use. It's really quite strange.

I don't know what level of programming you are in right now, but from my experience, linux has always been the easier of operating systems when it comes to programming. Installing libraries, compiling, packaging, unpackaging, and customization is why I find the OS much better than Windows and Mac for development.

I have about 15 customs scripts that run for about a minute and a half after boot on linux, just repeatedly modprobing hardware to get it to ******* start.

Linux works, sure, but to get it work is a ******* hassle.

You just need to be aware to be aware is that it's a whole other kind of system (and most cases cheaper, I used linux for school computers and cost down in millions of NKR over windows in just licenses) but can't always give all the requirements (software that don't support unix like office)

both got it's up and downs , like if you lock yourself out of windows, you can crack it open easily with linux.

they all tools so "shrug" virtual boxing for my needs instead of favour just 1 is best in the end

it depend what you write in,pearl is perfect for linux imo but it in the end depend on what language that you write in and what suit your needs (and if you like it or not)
