It is a Mjolnir Armour!

Even if you don't know the name just call it the spartan Armour.

Actually, it's neither of them. The second the suit that guy bought has a shield and all the other specifics the game's model has, you can call it the "Mjolnir suit."

Never played Halo so...why is the 'spartan' armor named after Thor's hammer?

Because the military has a fetish for codewords.
(Also, in the books, I believe it was explained that the armor was not intended for Spartans, but with how powerful it was, they were the only ones who could use it without shattering every bone in their body.)

In one of the books they put it on a regular marine who killed himself because he was told to raise his hand, smacked his hand into his head causing him to reflex in pain and resumed to break every single bone in his body, pull every muscle and dislocate every joint from recoiling in pain.

The website this is from is open to the public and very popular. In the event that someone does not recognize Mjolnir Mark VI, they will certainly not know it is from Halo, and likely miss a great deal of the joke.
