In Somalia... . i. mirrai. I don't know what you guys think, but I found this genuinely humorous. It's clearly a joke and not meant to be taken seriously.

Just because I'm Somalian doesn't exactly mean I have to live in Somalia. I'm in Canada.

Dutch governments takes 52% of income above 152000 euros. Because we have a "progressive" tax-system. I guess you can't enjoy your money because a bunch of dropouts need support...

My government is a bunch of communists and I'm definitly going to move somewhere else when I grow up. This is the reason why so many people are corrupt.

Move to Russia, like Depardieu.

whelp, i hate to play devils advocate here, but (correct me if i'm wrong) if you make exactly 152000 euro's per year, and 52% of that is deducted because of tax, you are still making 72960 euro's per year, now i dont even have to convert that to know THAT'S A METRIC ******* of money, i live on $36000 (Australian) a year, and i get buy fine, albeit with no great luxuries and a relatively tight belt.

now the other part of this argument is, "i work hard for mah money, and den i lose more then half of it to tax, and unemployed wankers take mah money"
this is a very fair assumption, however a very small part of the tax funded budget goes on welfare, and furthermore many people who live in a cycle of unemployment-temporary-work-unemployment, actually have arguably harder jobs that pay far less then those who have the most well payed jobs.

tl;dr not everybody on welfare are permanently unemployed, large tax percentile doesn't always mean poverty and the taxes for the unemployed argument is nigh null-and-void.

Fifty plus percent is still way too much.

OBJECTION. The euro coin weighs 8.5 grams. which means with this mans salery after deductions his total wage is equal of 620160 grams. A METRIC TON is equal to 1000000 grams, this man, as science has proven. DOES NOT MAKE A METRIC TON OF MONEY.

Not even a ton either.

I live in Canada and I have to say things are pretty good here, not perfect but still pretty decent .
#115 to #108 - anonymous (02/06/2013) [-]
It depends on where you live. Here in Vancouver everything is insanely overpriced and we pay tons on taxes. Not to mention that it is getting harder and harder to get a job around here.
User avatar #117 to #115 - timmywankenobi (02/06/2013) [-]
hmm I had heard things were not so great on the west coast, And I agree taxes are a bit crazy here.
