would you like to summarise what it says for me?
User avatar #15 to #14 - prettyflyforaderp [OP](02/02/2013) [-]
...ok fine...
Somone said the same thing.
i said why did they do it.
he said the foreign policy. i asked on what.
he said opressing muslims.
and i said that it opresses the religious muslim people
User avatar #33 to #15 - teoberry (02/02/2013) [-]
There were several reason, though I won't deny religion is part of it
- US economic sanctions of Iraq
- US moving troops into Saudi, causing trouble for locals
- ****** treatment of Arabs, Muslim or note
- US support of Israel.
Note that these were stated by Al-Qaeda as motives

They have no one looking out for them, they've been **** on by the rest of the world, so, yeah, I can see why they'd do 9/11. The world needs to know to stop ******* with the Arabs.
User avatar #16 to #15 - masterboll (02/02/2013) [-]
is that supposed to make my point any less valid?

even if the same people were oppressed atheists, who are we to say that the same thing wouldnt have happened?
User avatar #17 to #16 - prettyflyforaderp [OP](02/02/2013) [-]
why would they be oppressed if everyone did not believe in a god?
User avatar #18 to #17 - masterboll (02/02/2013) [-]
because oppression doesnt necessarily have to be anything to do with God/religion
User avatar #19 to #18 - prettyflyforaderp [OP](02/02/2013) [-]
so your saying atheists have another hate?
User avatar #20 to #19 - masterboll (02/02/2013) [-]
im saying oppression would exist in the world no matter what

User avatar #21 to #20 - prettyflyforaderp [OP](02/02/2013) [-]
yes but about somthing more serious then an invisible man in the sky.
probably somthing everyone could see
User avatar #22 to #21 - masterboll (02/02/2013) [-]
you are taking the anti-theist view of the christian/muslim view of God (which is obviously incorrect) and using it as the only explanation as to who or what God is
User avatar #23 to #22 - prettyflyforaderp [OP](02/02/2013) [-]
if thats not it then (besides a fairy tale) then what is god?
User avatar #24 to #23 - masterboll (02/02/2013) [-]
look into pantheism
i cant be bothered summarising the whole thing
User avatar #25 to #24 - prettyflyforaderp [OP](02/02/2013) [-]
the philosaphy that everything is god?
thats worse then Christianity
User avatar #26 to #25 - masterboll (02/02/2013) [-]
from an atheists point of view:
everything that isnt atheism, is worse than atheism

some things are predictable
User avatar #27 to #26 - prettyflyforaderp [OP](02/02/2013) [-]
i dont believe that and im super atheist
User avatar #28 to #27 - masterboll (02/02/2013) [-]

being atheist does not give you superhero powers

I'm not sure if science can move mountains, but I've seen what it's done to hiroshima and nagasaki.

They were given the chance to surrender, before the first attack, and after. It's their government's fault for not surrendering. The innocent people didn't deserve it, but without the attacks, who knows WHEN Japan would have given in, resulting in how many more equally brutal deaths?
User avatar #32 to #30 - teoberry (02/02/2013) [-]
Yeah, but it would be soldiers dying, not civvies. Soldiers fully know that they may die, civvies don't. Point is, science can produce bad things.
User avatar #40 to #32 - madcaseofpoobrain (02/03/2013) [-]
User avatar #41 to #40 - teoberry (02/03/2013) [-]
There's that, but they're still soldiers. Civvies should never be killed to resolve a conflict.
User avatar #42 to #41 - madcaseofpoobrain (02/03/2013) [-]
The nuke was really a difficult decision to make, and though many people disagree with the decision, in the end it was made to save lives. I really do hope we never decide to do that again though. Keep in mind Atheists really do value human life...yolo.
User avatar #43 to #42 - teoberry (02/03/2013) [-]
I know that you guys value life, I was pointing out how science has a very dark side.
#44 to #43 - madcaseofpoobrain (02/03/2013) [-]
Well thanks, and yes it can at times. Good talk.
#37 to #32 - chevycowboy (02/03/2013) [-]
while I am not disagreeing with you Operation Downfall, the Plan B if Japan did not surrender called for 4 more atom bombs I believe as well as Japanese casualties in the millions
User avatar #36 - wafflecopper (02/03/2013) [-]
Religion allows you to command people to kill around 7 million

Atheist Men like Mao can kill 48-78 million

your logic sucks and you are a bigot
User avatar #39 to #36 - prettyflyforaderp [OP](02/03/2013) [-]
im gona have to ask for some more info on this "mao"
becuase 48-78 is a pretty big diffrence
#46 to #39 - anon (02/03/2013) [-]
Mao Tse-tung or Zedong, was responsible for the death of 30 million people, combined with Joseph Stalin's 20 million or so, you have about 50 million people dead at the hands of atheists, more than Hitler,
User avatar #52 to #46 - imcoolashell (02/03/2013) [-]
*cough cough* pol pot *Cough cough*
#54 to #52 - anon (02/03/2013) [-]
i considered him, but his kill count was only about 3 million, needed big numbers
User avatar #58 to #54 - imcoolashell (02/03/2013) [-]
the fact that u said only kind of worries me O.o
User avatar #45 to #39 - imcoolashell (02/03/2013) [-]
on this "mao"
are you dumb?
rhetorical question.....
but yes Mao Zedong, aka chairman mao, was the central chairman of the communist party of china, condemned the **** out of religion, and was one of the most ruthless world leaders in the history of man, and under his rule, 10's of millions of people died, be it from starvation, or persecution
User avatar #48 to #45 - prettyflyforaderp [OP](02/03/2013) [-]
whatever you say man, just sayin that religon makes people do stupid things and vise versa
User avatar #50 to #48 - imcoolashell (02/03/2013) [-]
and religion is a creation of man, hence people convince themselves to do stupid things
I've seen people do very nice things in the name of religion, and in the name of being a good person
be it religion or another idea, certain people are predestined to act like complete dicks and do manipulative and horrible things, but blaming religion for everything isn't the way to go
ps, stalin too was atheist

In all fairness, flying into the skyscraper took only 1 plane, and they did it pretty well. How many tries did it take for science to get to the moon?
User avatar #53 to #51 - prettyflyforaderp [OP](02/03/2013) [-]
it takes less effort to commit suicide then it is to make a step forward in life
User avatar #55 to #53 - VincentKing ONLINE (02/03/2013) [-]
unless you decided to kill yourself in a way that in the end, it really was an accident :o
I dunno, I am just bored at the moment
User avatar #56 to #55 - prettyflyforaderp [OP](02/03/2013) [-]
yea right some complicated way

like juggling while on a unicycle on a rope between two canyons, which at the bottom is jagged rocks, raging water, and piranhas, however though you want to die, you really want to do this so you will be known forever.
User avatar #38 - italianchef ONLINE (02/03/2013) [-]
people fly to space, people fly into skyscrapers. what you believe in doesnt matter its who you are
#35 - prolem (02/03/2013) [-]
science also build the very same plane but coudnt prevent it from flying into that building, or prevent that building from colapsing
#34 - mattkingg **User deleted account** (02/02/2013) [-]
Science also flies nuclear missles into civilians
User avatar #59 to #34 - militarybus (03/03/2013) [-]
no my friend, science creates the bomb, religion and power flys it.
#60 to #59 - mattkingg **User deleted account** (03/03/2013) [-]
So religion fired the bombs into Hiroshima and Nagasaki?
User avatar #61 to #60 - militarybus (03/03/2013) [-]
it, along with the humans need for power, flipped the switch.
#62 to #61 - mattkingg **User deleted account** (03/03/2013) [-]
Religion had nothing to do with it,
and humans need along for power? i'd say that's science in a nutshell
