The problem with starwars episode 1-3 is that they were made for kids wich pissed off a lot of the people who were kids when episode 4-6 came out.

People were expecting George Lucas to make a movie for the classic starwars fans but instead they ended up with this speech impaired ************ .

That also explains why disney has been having such a hard time finding a director, because either you make a movie for the kids or you make a commercial flop that the old school fans will enjoy.

It was because they were too lazy to get their facts straight, so they stuck the movie in an alternate universe so there'd be no plot-holes.

Then again I have never seen any Star Trek

Anything "non-canon" is heavily frowned upon.
Alternate reality is a pretty cheesy excuse.

It's like spending decades with a show, only to be told none of that existed. 80 or so episodes, a couple of movies, and poof, none of that happened.

It's not a big deal to me, but obviously the die-hard fans **** themselves.

User avatar #123 to #121 - Crusader (02/02/2013) [-]
That was supposed to be in the original trilogy.
Obi-Wan was supposed to be doing biological research to find a way to to somehow get Force Ghosts bodies' back.
But then they figured the hermit route was going to be better, but Lucas knew that they were going to have that from the beginning, he spent years creating lore behind it all.

dude, i don't think you understand.

people like the movie, or dislike it because it's OPINION. people who make videos like that are ******* retarded, it's like they're not satisfied with the fact that people enjoy the movie, it's like if someone went round town stopping every person to explain why pop music is crap, but no matter how many hours you spend explaining your point, they will just turn round and say "ok, well i still like it." Opinion is not fact. i like the prequels because they were brutal, had epic as **** scenes, loved the character progression and relevance to the original trilogy.

Like many on here have said, the sequels weren't so bad if you didn't compare them to the older ones. In my honest opinion, Episode 1 was pretty bad ass for the most part. I mean, pod racers, droids, princesses, and best of all, dual lightsabers. Episode II bored me for the most part, but it did have its share of badass parts. Episode III definitely could have been better, but the fighting scenes were pretty cool, and I love how the campaign in Battlefront II uses Episode III. Let's all be honest here, Disney has done wonders with some franchises, so stop bitching just because Disney is known for child-friendly cartoons. The Avengers was pretty much Disney, and they did a great job with that! Oh, and Kingdom Hearts, Pirates of the Caribbean, every single movie that has the Touchstone Pictures label on it, and pretty much every Marvel movie that will come out in the near future.
User avatar #152 to #133 - themongoose ONLINE (02/02/2013) [-]
Forgot to mention that Pulp Fiction was also a Disney may be a bit too young for that one though.

So...the atrocious acting didn't get to you at all? Hayden Christensen is a male Kristin Stewart. He's the same in EVERY movie. Liam Neeson and Ewan McGregor were barely even decent, and Natalie Portman was terrible as well. Chalk it up to bad directing and Lucas having his hand in it too much, but still, awful movies. (And I'm not saying the original movies were good either. Mark Hammill was a joke too. Good thing he stuck with voice acting. The only reason they were "good" is because they were groundbreaking in the special effects - like Avatar - and sci-fi story world. Not because they are good movies).

Thumb however you people like. I am a hardcore fanboy, but I prefer the books over the movies. I think the next three will be the best three now that Lucas is just a "consultant."
User avatar #166 to #151 - bakakinji (02/02/2013) [-]
You do bring up some good points; however, I couldn't care less about the acting. Personally, all I wanted to do was point out that the idea of new Star Wars movies aren't as bad as the mainstream media is saying. I mean, we have Disney, who are known for making children movies but are overlooked for the other things they do like Pulp Fiction (as you stated in #152), J.J. Abrams who directed the Star Trek movie which they really did a great job on, and an extremely popular series that needed the last three movies because it's supposed to work somewhat like a three-part play.

I was a very young kid when the first 3 movies came out. A teenager when the Phantom Menace came out. IMO... I got my share of epic star wars experience when I was a kid. Why is it so bad if Disney can make another 2-3 generations feel the same epic star wars experience? How much would it rock to be able to talk to your kid about star wars **** . I mean... imagine if daddy can actually understand all the stuff you and your friends talk about? Superdad galore. Building model Tie fighters together and **** ... Hell.. I hope disney makes a movie every year for the rest of for ever.

Pixar has been disney's bitch for a long time. The only time Pixar was alpha was when they're contract ran up and they threatened to leave but came crawling back

Avenger was acquired post filming

Disney animator are like chinese sweatshop workers

John Carter's movie rights has been owned by disney practically since the book came out and given that Taylor Kitsch has been known for his flops recently this is his steady meal ticket should Disney decide to throw up more sequels.

I didn't see Timothy Green so you win there though

No, I don't think that's very accurate. Remember, the people Disney employ for these tasks have a passion for their work. That's how they're able to get there in the first place. Imagine if you found a career that makes use of your talents (talents you enjoy), and someone came along to say, "Hey, we think you're the best person for this project of ours. We're prepared to pay you millions if you're up for it."
Nothing at all like slavery, or selling one's soul. If someone were dragged into Disney's project's kicking and screaming (quite literally), then there'd be something horrid about it.
