SOG makes better knives, tbh.

Like this BladeLight.
It's way more practical than the over-sized pocket knife shown.

SOG is utter crap, IMO. I mean no offense to you, but SOG does not compare to either Wenger, nor the HEST (no matter how much I hate the HEST)

For me, I have only handled one SOG that impressed me, it was one of their multi-tools (So I shouldn't be using such a broad term then, since they do produce something good).

Every folder and fixed blade I handled from them just seemed to tacticool for me. Their build quality seemed lacking and felt cheap (especially the flash II and similar models). From what I have seen, and reports from other users on the forums, they seem to have had QC issues, but this could have been resolved since the last time I took part in a SOG discussion. The steel that they use is decent, and nothing to really complain about, however; it is good for the average user.

I just feel like there is a lot better you can do for the money. Now, forgive me, but I am quite the snob when it comes to my cutting tools, and I mean no disrespect whatsoever. I grew up with SAK's and multi-tools, but am now infatuated with high-end slipjoints and traditionals. My opinion comes from being accustomed to custom-like quality for a few years. To put it simply, I am an elitist asshole, and I duly apologize.

Ah, I see.

I have the Power Assist Multitool from them.
Was contemplating on getting the BladeLight from Amazon for $50.
Although with only 35 lumens...it could be better.

Any other brands you'd suggest?

Lol, my EDC flashlight is only 2 lumens, so, it isn't all bad. I mean, if you want to get a SOG, go ahead. I never liked one-hand openers, so I am very biased against them, so take what I have to say with a grain of salt. Heck, for all I know, that SOG could be a great knife. I never realized that that knife had a flashlight; cool, but it seems silly to me.

You could always check out Spyderco, Buck, Benchmade...the list goes on.

Here is a Buck that my buddy has and loves. I don't know what you like, but it is a really nice knife. Awesome steel, grippy handle.
You could also look into the Spyderco Delica's. Many Handle colors for around the same price.

My advice is this: if you like it, and it works for you, **** what everyone else has to say. If you want the SOG, go for it, it may be everything you want and more. All that matters is that you get what YOU want.
