This is what every parent should do to their child after they have broken some sort of rule..
I know if my mother made me stand next to the road and hold a sign that said 'I can't keep my hands off my penis", then I wouldn't be a chronic masturbater today now would I?

People are seriously calling this "cruel" by the mother's part?
Physical punishment is too much in most cases, and just telling the kid that it's wrong doesn't have any effect. Public humiliation will stay deep in the memory of the kid, while imprinting that he deserved the punishment, while in the future it will be just a shameful memory with no impact on him.

TL;DR: I like her style.

It would have been cruel if she was hitting the kid..

I work at a Goodwill store and most of my job is taking **** that people move from one section of the store and putting is back where it belongs because people are terrible.
One day I was out on the floor doing just that when I heard a mom say to her kid: "Jeremy, don't just put that down there, if you don't want it put it back where you found it." and I almost hugged her. It's nice to know that there are still parents who don't let their kids own them.

seeing a lot of hate on this site about the mother doing this and i really cant understand why. let me lay it out for you: first, this is probably not the kids first time in "trouble" as a bully, second this isn't anywhere near as bad as getting expelled from schools or juvenile detention, which recent laws against bullying do allow, third, and probably most importantly, this is about as painful as corporal punishment without being physically damaging to the child so you pacifags cant really complain about it, as i said its more than likely not his first time called out as a bully and talking to him obviously didn't work, and last, bullying is more than physically demeaning someone it also embarrasses them so this is a highly effective way to show the harm he caused

TL;DR pacifags need to learn how to dicipline

inb4 jumping on he deserved it bandwagon, i think bullying is a natural occurrence and shouldn't be monitored as severely as it is, if you are the subject of bullying either take action against it or continue to be the victim, i have no sympathy for the bullied.. i myself was bullied from Kindergarten -8th grade until i stood up for myself and after that noone bothered me again, its not hard, they rule by intimidation because their "victims" allow them. those that allow them to win are just as bad as the bullies themselves because they show absolutely no resolve to better their current standing in the social order, which will be dominate in most developing humans lives until near adult hood

while we're talking ethics here:

you shouldn't have to stand up for yourself because the bullying shouldn't be happening in the first place.

That's why I do feel sympathy for the bullied. Regardless of the practicality, even if they don't do anything they still deserve their bit of justice.

What I hate, is in school if a bully starts a fight, and the child defends himself, both people are in trouble for fighting to begin with. School policy teaches children to sit there and take the beating then go to a teacher who should(and might not even) handle the situation.
User avatar #114 to #111 - HarvietheDinkle (01/27/2013) [-]
I'm not saying the child doesn't have a right to defend themselves. They certainly do.

However, they also have a right to not defend themselves, if they so choose.

bullying has been going on for generations and look at how well they turned out, we're pacifying children to be mindless drones who cant stand up for what they believe is right, something to be molded by society into whatever they deem fit for their new toy. a bullies little slice of justice is the wimpy beta kid showing him up in front of all his friends. thats how you hurt a bully, you take his power away, bullies exist in all aspects of life, not just in lower education facilities, if you dont learn early how to deal with them properly, you're gonna have a bad time in the real world
User avatar #76 to #73 - HarvietheDinkle (01/27/2013) [-]
You see, we're talking two things here.

You're talking real-world practicality.

I'm talking about a utopian situation.
#77 to #76 - makeitasyougo (01/27/2013) [-]
my apologies i tend to get rather emphatic about things... yes in a utopian situation you are indeed correct and i concede
